Is anyone else using their trackIR 5 with the latest catalyst 15.7 drivers installed?

I just purchased a new computer and it freezes just as windows 7 home premium starts to boot when my trackIR is plugged in. I’ve tried a number of different USB ports on my motherboard and a powered USB hub – same result.

I’m guessing it’s either conflicting with my GPU (sapphire tri-x 390x) or water cooler, yes, my water cooler (nzxt kraken x61). I only mention the cooler because i’ve already found a conflict with the coolers software and another game.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here, too. But only, if I press F12 while booting to get into a bootscreen, because I run a dual boot with Linux Mint an Win7 and here as deafault is Linux Mint.
(TrackIR-4 with 5.x-Software and AMD-7770 with latest driver and as MB the GigaByte H77m-d3H)

But I think it is not an issue with the VGA/driver…, I think it’s an issue with Mainboard, or the BIOS.
Each time I ended my F4-BMS “session”, I unplug TrackIR…
(IIRC there is no problem with TrackIR 4.x software, because it (IIRC) does not need this own USB driver, which is needed by the 5.x software.)

I’m at the point where I think I’ll have to plug it in when I want to use it too. Thanks for the input.

I’m running the 15.7 drivers with TrackIR 5 on Windows 7 64-Bit with no issues.

Update for anyone that is interested and/or suffering from similar symptoms. I believe my problems are stemming from a power management issue between my Asus x99-A motherboard and all of the USB devices i insist on using. Despite knowing what the issue is, i’m still unable to address it. I think i’m stuck unplugging and plugging in my devices while waiting for a BIOS update.

I’ll chug a beer and post the video if anyone here can help me fix this! 🙂

Just in case anyone else having this problem should stumble upon this thread, i got it sorted. Turns out the issue wasn’t necessarily specific to the TrackIR, but rather to my USB devices in general. The problem was rectified by (possibly) updating to windows 10 and (most likely) installing windows in UEFI mode. I had installed my previous OS in legacy mode, but i believe my BIOS was pre-configured to UEFI, so there were some compatibility issues. I’m sure that if i were to go back and reinstall windows 7 UEFI, i wouldn’t have these issues.

                  No beer chug for you!

EDIT: Never mind, it’s still an issue. All was good for 12 hours and then went back to screwing me. The ball is in your court ASUS, you dinks.

Scrap it and go back to your old girl.

And only geeks use TR. Lover to chat but I have to go put anther hat switch in.

PS: seriously, If I need to access my bios I first must unplug the Warthog, Its the UEFI Bios.
