Test IVC sound quality?

Can anyone recommend a way to test the IVC sound/quality as a single player?

Would be great to be able to check this along with things like controls and TIR/Opentrack before going into MP.

IVC only comes into play in multiplayer. Typically if you fly in a wing or others online you all would connect IVC to the server and then perform IVC checks, which ensures everyone can communicate on IVC before committing into the flight. This is a common practice but if you are a singleton in online server it would be hard to do this without someone else being able to verify that they can hear you.

I suppose if you had a separate PC that you could connect IVC to the same server and perform your own tests (speak on IVC on PC 1, and hear it coming out of PC 2.) I don’t think there is another way of doing it unfortunately. Maybe someone else might have something different.

UPDATE: sorry I misread your post. Your looking to test the sound quality. I suppose the test I stated would still work and might be the only way to do it.

Windows has a voice-recorder app built in. That will test your mic and headphones at least…

@Todd1215 Separate PC might be the best option, for a once off setup. Then rely on the mic check as @airtex2019 suggested.

I use the ‘listen’ parameter setting, and even have a ‘sound’ shortcut to get to it quickly. Works good.

No, for me it worked very well this way.

Ah yes indeed. A re-look at the documentation revealed that the ivc.ini (and client command line parameters) only adjusts the ‘incoming’ sounds. I thought it was the other way round.

So as you said. the sound out from me will be same as windows sounds, notwithstanding poor quality connections. /bandwidth and the listener’s client settings. Problem solved.
