ILS at Pohang AB wrong runway
-
Not sure if this is a bug on the kneeboards, charts, AB model, or some combination…
The kneeboards list ILS 110.9 at Pohang AB rwy 28. But all I got was glideslope, no localizer.
I missed approach, and on the other side of the AB, the ILS localizer needle lit up.
The charts seem to indicate ILS 110.9 in both approach directions?

@airtex2019 probably too low and was masked by terrain
-
My charts only have ILS approach for RWY 10, 28 says TACAN.
Probably because 28 does not have any terrain features to look out for, while 10 requires you to come in from the hills/mountains.
Pretty cool weather situation, is it a custom TE ?
One more thing I have started doing is to recon the runway threshold and store the coordinates in stpt 81-99. Then the steerpoint diamond is exactly right and acts as glideslope guide

There is NO ILS on runway 28 at Pohang only a TCN approach.
The ILS approach is only for RWY10.
If you look in the top right of the charts one says “TACAN RWY 28” and the other says “ILS RWY 10”
Hope this helps?
I see your confusion and perhaps the 110.9 should be removed from the TACAN RWY 28 chart.

@Ironman53rd well at the time, this was my primary source of confusion
also it was super low-viz and ATC was directing me to runway 28 … seemed legit

This was just the ILS Weather TR… thought I’d head to Pohang to practice with a bit more crosswind.

Good catch. Typo indeed. Fixed in U3 (both AIP + Kneeboards)
As Ironman described, ILS 10 is valid for ILS.
