Saitek X-52 Profile
-
Updated
I’ve added bomb ripple and interval controls to the shifted T1-T6 buttons. See first post for details. To avoid duplication of function, I’ve replaced the shifted functions for the Fire A and Fire B buttons. Again, see first post.

A sixth, and hopefully final update**.**
The No TrackIR BMS Saitek X-52.key profile has been updated to replace “TrackIR Center” and “TrackIR Reload” mappings with “Padlock next AA” and “Padlock next AG”.
@Wombat1940: No problem. Hope it works as intended.
-
Update 7 Okay, having the bomb delivery adjustment keys mapped to the joystick didn’t really make sense.
It’s awkward to use shift + T1 - T6, so non-combat-critical controls make sense here.
I’ve mapped WinAmp controls to shift + T1 - T6. See image for details.
Shift + Fire A is now Master Arm Cycle. Shift + Fire B is now Laser Arm ToggleDownload link is updated to include these changes.
I hope I’m done now.
I think you’ll agree that all of these changes have been for the better.
Let me know if you have any problems.Good hunting.

Thank You Very Much !!!

Kes,
great work fella.
What do you use as the eject ? or canopy toggle?
- i have one prob - i cant seem to make the range wheel work.
i have also remapped the slider to the radar antenna - i have always found this a really useful tool - especially when attacking planes at different alts.
- tremendous work getting the throttle square buttons doing something useful

If someone has a X52 pro version of this you would be my hero

Thanks a lot for sharing, KesMonkey, I’m going to try that configuration right now.:D

Alright I attempted to convert it to X-52 Pro. Still a work in progress.

Some DX button assignments were different and had to be changed. I can’t figure out how to use the LCD buttons, because on the Pro they are buttons 33 and 34, which are not supported by BMS (only up to 32 buttons per controller). Other then that everything else should be the same (though I had to create new axis assignments, but they should be right).

Cheers ade. Yeah, the great thing is that everybody will be able to tweak the setup to their own likings.
The only tricky part is mapping the shifted functions, which can’t be done through the game’s user interface.
In this profile, eject is mapped to the default which is (hold) ctrl + e on the keyboard.
Canopy handle is also it’s default setting which is Ctrl + shift + C. You can easily remap these from the game’s u.i.
The range wheel? Do you mean the mouse wheel on the throttle?
If so, that’s defined in the Falcon 4 BMS X-52.pr0 file for your Saitek profiler software.
Do you have this profile running in the background? -

Aw, crap. I don’t see a way around that.

I’ve just started to use this and it’s much better than what I was hacking away with. My only problem, and it’s a big one, is that I cannot use the mouse stick to slew my radar cursor. I’ve updated my software and drivers as well.

Does the SST software allow those buttons to be programmed to send keystrokes? Or, are they limited to manipulating the LCD menus? (X-52 owner here, who hasn’t started fooling with BMS yet… so I’m just pulling up dusty memories here…)

Can you confirm that you have Falcon 4 BMS X-52.pr0 profile running in your Saitek SST software?

The SST profiling software doesn’t allow that, no. Each of those buttons does have a DirectX ID number though, so they are recognised natively by the sim. With the Pro model however, the ID numbers for those buttons are outside the range recognised by the sim.

Update:
Throttle idle detent is now correctly calibrated on the throttle axis.
**“**Slap switch”, a vital part of the countermeasures system, is now mapped to shift + Fire D

I do have the BMS profile enabled, everything but the cursor works. Also, could you consider hosting your file on something other than megaupload, like mediafire or the server?

KesMonkey,
Thanks for the profile, I find it very helpful. I know a lot of work went into it. One question regarding the Shifted functions, I copied and pasted the two lines you posted to falcon bsm cfg and then hold the pinky key for at least 0.5 seconds, but I don’t get the shifted functions…get same as not shifted. Is there a special place to paste it in there or a special way to paste it? One more question, I downloaded the latest drivers from Saitek and on the Satek controllers page, under clutch settings I only have one option; “latched clutch”…nothing for “enable clutch…” Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
espo -

Thanks,
espoYou’re welcome Yeah, unlatching the clutch button should do the trick.
If those lines are inserted neatly in to the list (see pic), this isn’t the problem.
Can you check to see if the each of these lines:
SimHotasPinkyShift 5 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
SimHotasPinkyShift 261 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
appear in the .key file that you’re using? Just open the .key file with wordpad, and find (ctrl + f) each of those lines.
If for any reason, either of those lines are missing, just paste them in at the bottom of the list.Let me know what you find.

No problem, here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/?ravlddxasf9ex9c
You might need to disable your Saitek Magic Mouse drivers that were installed by the SST software.
Let me know if this works please.
