@Radium My pleasure to help in anyway I can.
Definitely look forward to the final product. (And here’s to hoping this will motivate the Dev’s to finally code in a back-seater!)
Cheers

God Speed, Iceman, my F-14A will be officially made in your honor.
What do you think on placing his name (and his RIO, Slider) in the cockpit, under the canopy, where the name of the pilots are writen?

Yeah, why not !!! Very good idea. That being said, Top Gun’s VFA-213 never existed, so I will not make this one ! STRKFITRON 213 that has this emblem :
I am not sure how to integrate Iceman on my Tomcats…
As I said, here are the expected liveries :

Yep, in fact, they never existed… but… why not?
Is for a good cause mate…
-
@VDK Hehehe, no, because in KTO, we only integrate real stuff…
-
@Radium I think Iceman deserves to break that rule. Maybe the Devs can make an exception in this case… I personally would like to.
Most of us became passionate about aviation after watching Top Gun. -
@Apolo27 @MaxWaldorf @digle @Mav-jp what are your thoughts about this ?
-
@Radium There is a “fictional” skin for the transall in BMS so i’m not against a new one
-
No one here is against top gun…
-
So, there will be one… 2 being the majority over 3 !
So… VFA-213 with :
LT. TOM KAZANSKY
“ICEMAN”and
LT. JG RON KERNER
“SLIDER”Thanks guys !

Most of us became passionate about aviation after watching Top Gun.Anybody anytime can make the skin and use it. It does not have to be integrated into the core BMS4. As I see the Team is not against this.

Hello,
Thanks again for your help, especially @JollyFE !
So, we have our NC-8A !
Some more triangles, as you can see ! This model is about to be something… A bit incredible, in term of ambiance : this is really what I look for.
Now, I will do the bleed air generator (haven’t been able to find a good reference for…)
Edit : I look for some help for the Air Start Unit… Am not able to find references. Any help ?
Thanks !

Air Start Unit
According to Chat GPT, the old MA-1A “huffer cart” was used on the F-14 even in the 90s (someone more knowledgable may confirm or deny…)
Regarding the US Air Force markings, I’ve gotten the following explanation:
️ Why the MA-1A (a USAF Unit) Is Associated with a US Navy Jet (the F-14)
You’re correct that:
The F-14 Tomcat was a U.S. Navy aircraft. The MA-1A Air Start Unit is often labeled or branded as a USAF (U.S. Air Force) piece of equipment.
So what’s going on?
The Real Story:
MA-1A was a generic designation It was first developed by or for the USAF, but like many ground support tools, it was adopted across branches because it was effective, available, and standardized. The U.S. Navy used it as well, especially for shore-based operations. Navy versions often didn’t get relabeled Even when used at Naval Air Stations, the carts often retained their “USAF” designations and markings — because: They were often surplus or shared units. It wasn’t worth repainting or rebranding for what was essentially the same function. Carriers had different setups On aircraft carriers, F-14s were typically started using shipboard pneumatic systems, like: MSU-200NAV (Jet Start Units) Built-in huffers tied into the ship’s air system But at land bases, even Navy-operated ones, the MA-1A and similar carts were standard. Photos skew USAF The majority of preserved or photographed MA-1As are in Air Force museums or on Air Force tarmacs, which is why most references show them with USAF markings.

MSU-200NAV
Hello,
From the information I found, (I found this reference), this was the cart in use :
It was confirmed, on the Midway museum :
I guess this is a good one.
I am very suspicious recently with ChatGPT, as I got a LOT of mistakes regarding F-14… (I also tried to use it for my researches…)
Thanks for your help !
