Morphine's Profile

I am missing something important, where is the devicesorting.txt located please? Can’t find it anywhere

Can’t find it anywhere
Probably because you didn’t even bother to search
1. maybe the search function of the PDF reader will help, BMS manual, page 50
2. are you aware that Windows explorer is also able to perform searches?
3. Most of these users files are always in the same folder -
Thanks a lot Olivier. I’m sorry to have given the sensation that I did not search, which I indeed did. It was as simply as that I am moving to update1 and was trying to work the Morphine bugs BEFORE running the new 4.33 with U1, so the devicesorting.txt was not created yet, that’s why it did not appear in the folder and therefore I could not find it by any tried means. Your tip on the Bms Manual was valuable, have not thought of looking there.
By editing the order in the devicesorting.txt and manually putting the thrustmaster combined on top the problem was gone. Thanks for the inputs you all!By the way I want to congratulate you Red Dog on the manuals, I have the 4.32 printed and now will go with the 4.33u1 ones on lulu. Excelent work, and long live the VF-1.

I use Morphine’s profile and it works fine. Check your “devicesorting.txt” file to ensure the numbering is correct. It should look something like this:
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Combined”
{B351044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 1”
{B352044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 2”
{00F2068E-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "CH PRO PEDALS USB "I just need to add to or modify the keyfile to add the 4 new callbacks for the F-18.
Sniped…
Wait. So as long as thrustmaster combined is the first I can use this file to finally use my cougar mfds properly. Having them sit behind my second monitor when they work perfectly for DCS has been driving me nuts. I can’t wait to try this

Yup. I haven’t had to chase my device order since the “Devicesorting.txt” was introduced. As far as I’m concerned this was the greatest change in the entire update.
-
Now is there an easy way to switch left and right mfds? I have them set up to Velcro to a spare monitor and it works great in DCS but BMS is switching up the left and right and I don’t want to have to remove the padding and put Velcro in its place.
EDIT Well I just switched the order on Devicesorting.txt and didn’t even bother changing the MFD# and it worked. This has turned into a great day hehe.

Hey morphine: do you happen to have a keyboard file or know the procedure to make one? I’m doing my first IQT with the 1st VFW and would like to have one.
Thanks,
Rhino -
There is a SP/STP Toggle function on the Shifted TMS Hat. What Callback name would it be mapped to?
-
That just happened to me today while I was doing my first IQT training in 4.33u1. Nobody told me that device sorting had anything to do with 4.33u1. The profiles worked great 4.33, but in 4.33u1 it changes. So I got in the pits and nothing worked. Got it fixed though and it works great again. Thanks morphine it’s a great profile.
-
Edit: figured it out!
-
I’ve just installed fresh Windows 7 pro x64 with all the stuff needed (WoT included
) and after FalconBMS 4.33.U1 I realized that Morphin’s profile works perfectly. Without any problems. Maybe I’m just lucky
-
I was having issues with my Warthog, etc… But I downloaded a program called JoyID and no matter if I have unplugged my HOTAS and MFD’s, they always return to the same mapping location.
-
That is not longer necessary. There is a file in BMS that allow to change that. I cannot recall exact name. It is ‘devices something’ in config folder.
Here,
C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config\DeviceSorting.txtC:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input\BMS Key File Manual.pdf. Chapter 8 “THE DX DEVICE ORDER”

Indeed and this info may be of some use also regarding JoyID:
"Note: This tool has an effect only with games using the (old, deprecated) Win32_API for joysticks. Newer games (starting at least with IL-2 1946) probably use the DirectInput API which unfortunately ignores these IDs completely. "
Quoted from ATAG forums.

edit: never mind found the solution

I’ve been trying to use Morphines’ Warthog profile. I am encountering a flight control issue that is related to my Thrustmaster TFRP. It seems the rudder pedals come across as Thrustmaster combined. I believe there is an issue with a lack of axes in Thrustmaster combined.
I discovered that when I created a profile in the Target GUI that only included the stick and throttle - the two devices appeared in BMS as Thrustmaster combined. The rudders came across as a separate device.
I tried to look at Morphines TMC file to see if there were any devices defined besides the stick and the trottle but did not see anything besides the stick and throttle. Does anyone have any ideas?
-
Ok, I think I figured it out. I took a look at the GUI profile in script form. It specified “no TFRPRudder”. That solved the issue. The rudder appeared as a separate device.
-
Hey B2Blain,
I’ve been trying the same thing with my thrustmaster pedals, they keep coming up combined. So you think you could send me your profile so I can get it working right? Right now I have to unplug the pedals run the profile in the target GUI and then plug them back in to get them separate from the combined. Thanks Rhino
-
Does any one know how to keep rudder pedals as the own indenty. I just picked up a set of Thrustmaster TFRP t-Rudder pedals. Now I’ve edited the script in the target UI but they are still combining with the throttle. So when I go into BMS UI they don’t show up but they are connected to the throttle. Right now what I do is unplug the rudder pedals before running script and then plug them back in and everything is ok. But there has to be a way to get around this without the hassle of unplugging and plugging in. Any Ideas?
Thanks, Rhino 185th

Hey Rhino,
Place this in Morphines script using the script editor at the beginning with the other lines excluding devices:Configure(&TFRPRudder, MODE_EXCLUDED);
I found it by selecting only stick and throttle and looking at the script in the GUI. Thrustmaster support was not help.
