Wingman comms

In the training mission “formations” I can comm with wingmen and tell them what to do and they will verbally talk back and perform the request. As soon as I start a campaign, the wingmen will do what I tell them such as turn on and turn off smoke but they will not tell me their location if I ask. They won’t verbally confirm they are switching to my formation request but they will do it. They won’t verbalize anything!!! It’s very annoying.

Usually, when somebody is broadcasting, you hear his voice AND you can read the written radio text on top of the screen.
Is the written text missing as well?
If you just cannot hear your flight members, I would recommend you check your radio volume settings in the cockpit.Also make sure you are on the correct VHF frequency (preset).
In real life, wingmen will for sure be able to get orders from you via hand signs, even if the radio is inactive.
Before you get into the pit, open the data cartridge and load the comms. (Don’t forget to save.)Be aware, if your package consists of more then one flight, your flight preset will be VHF 15 for flight #1, VHF 16 for flight #2 and so on.

There is no written comms displayed in the upper left screen during campaign (for wingmen) I do see it for AWACs. I do see that as well as hear with in the TE training mission for wingmen. I have also been setting up the data cartridge for both COMM and IFF and saving. What’s funny is that the wingmen will do what I tell them to (i’m using keyboard only) but I have only tried setting VHF to channels 1 - 6 and trying to get a response. When I get home from work I will DEFINITELY try channel 15, 16 etc. Thank you for the suggestion. I’m hoping this is what I am missing. I do have the COMM 1 and COMM 2 knobs all the way at full on. They start out that way.

@Joruli wingmen will be on VHF 15-19. Check your briefing after you click dance the DTC to see what preset to be on. You’ll see the (Vxx) in the intraflight section

Yep I was on the wrong channel for sure! Thanks Everyone. Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. I had to learn about all the comm channels. I think 6 is wingmen? (read above 15 etc. 6 was maybe AWACS?) Can’t remember off the top of my head but definitely in WDP and in the briefing. This sim is so in depth and amazing! I purchased and am using VoiceAttack now. Definitely could not fly without it anymore.

Hi, @Joruli . It does tend to spawn to VHF 6, even with DTC saved and loaded in 'pit.
There can be a trick to VA. Sometimes it won’t pick up on a spoken command. A personal example is “roger ball” However, when I type the command on the top line roger BOWL , it works.
