I just missed the most epic recording chance!

Picture this, stock BMS campaign, some nasty looking red aircraft closing in on my airbase.
Scramble Scramble!! Intercept mission time!
The nasties at this point are only about 15km from home so I grabbed 2x 120b and 4x 9m’s and whack the go button.I clicked runway so I load in immediately full AB, and fence, and call good old Mr Chalice for nearest threat vector.
IL-28 4 ship 1mile!!!, 175 i pull up, I get to about 750feet when I get hit by the explosion on some russian runway bomb
BUT!!! no HUD no engine, directly ahead of me are x2 mig23!!!, i flick dogfight mode on and hear lock! so though ah well, and fired all 4 aim’9s then ejected at about 400ft
got them both
but forgot to ACMI :(:(:(:(:(:(:(
p.s. is it possible to have it auto-record without having to start it every flight?

Pics or it didn’t happen !!
Sounds like a thrilling time. AFAIK, there’s no way to have the ACMI auto-start, though. There’s an AUTO-function on the ACMI recording, but even that needs to be activated manually, so you might just flick it through to record continuously. Middle position of the switch = will record after weapon launch for 30 seconds (default, can be changed in Falcon BMS.cfg, iirc)
Best “panic” ACMI recording is pressing the appropriate keyboard key (F is default in Dunc_DX, I believe) and make sure the overlay ‘ACMI RECORDING’ is set to visible in Falcon BMS.cfg, so that you can make sure it’s recording.

Missed an good recording opportunity myself. Just the other day while flying in BFS online campaign, I’m defensive against an AIM-120. I’m in burner for what seems like forever and I’m waiting for the “boom”, when I look over my left shoulder and see the slammer flying in tight formation just behind my left wing. For about 5 seconds I stare at it, as it just hangs there off my wing, like it’s my wingman or something! Finally it loses energy and falls behind me. Missile defeated.
But as Eagle says, pics or it didn’t happen. :uham:

no pics I’m afraid it all happened so fast!

Bet that bomber pilot is happy every time he sees the A-A kill painted on the side of his cockpit
