Gibraltar Theatre for 4.37.6

@AviationPlus not sure what you are trying to achieve here, first off, are you doing this in a TE or modifying an existing Campaign?
The first should work without issues.
The second is a campaign between two countries, the other countries are set inactive. You are not supposed to edit it to make flights from Spain because it wont work for that exact reason, your changes should be limited to the two countries and perhaps an aircraft carrier but that is it.

It seems only a few airports are like that like Murica, Rota and Moron that make the server crash. We are testing Alicante and it seems fine. Not being able to use any airports in Spain is a little not quiet what I was expecting.
-
@AviationPlus, you are not responding to my question. Are you trying this on a Tactical Engagement or Campaign?
I am sorry you are disappointed. I thought it was evident in the description of the theatre that the campaign compasses the conflict between Morocco and Algeria, which does not include Spain.
On a Tactical Engagement, however, you should have no issues whatsoever, as this has been tested by my group.

Honestly, I had no issues of any kind in doing that anywhere in the map.
Anyway, if I were you I’d try two:- as first, deleting the whole theatre (and I mean by cleaning all the registry calls with CCleaner after having it uninstalled) and trying again;
- if really unsuccessful, making a written note of those airbases of your interest, loading that TE with Mission Commander and fixing manually all the “wrong” calls one by one. Then, you can save the TE.
Good luck once again, mate, but one of those above will have to go out fine.
With best regards.

Sorry. We are using Campaign and we are unable to use the Murica AB for human flights. Additionally, when we use Rota or Moron for server it does not work at all with the fragged flights vanishing and being canceled when after hitting take off.
Saw that it was a conflict between Morocco and Algeria but Spain is half the map. We are able to get it to work flying out of Alicante.
Correct TEs are fine we are doing Weapons School with that.

We are able to use Alicante for human take offs but in the Campaign using Muria the squadron and flights vanish after hitting take off and going to the time countdown.
Having bases in Spain is closer than taking off from Morocco giving a better angle for a campaign for us to play.

OK, that explains why, you are not supposed to; the theatre isn’t designed for it.
Correct TEs are fine we are doing Weapons School with that.
Good, thanks for testing that!
I will be preparing a campaign in which the confrontation will be in the Iberian peninsula, as the issue I currently have to transport the amphibious unit from Point A across the sea to Point B is still impossible. Wish someone shed some light on how to make it work as it used before.
I forewarn you that this new campaign will not be realistic; the hint is that it is “historical”.

Seems like the PAK page is offset and unable to click on territories to set a level.
Edit: Using MC to see the names of the territories to set them appropriately

@AviationPlus Hello, Merry Christmas…it’s a known and reported bug, we’ll try to fix it in the next update.
As I see that you are a very active pilot in this theater, I would like to tell you a few things:For various reasons the theater had to be released early, the team did not have time to test it properly and it has some bugs, some known and reported and others not.
We wanted pilots to have “something” to do in this theater and a mini campaign was built between Morocco and Algeria, that’s why you have the problems you’ve already mentioned… that campaign was not intended to fly with the Spanish faction. The “main” campaign with Spain as the protagonist is in progress.
The problem we have now is how to transport troops through the Strait of Gibraltar for a possible invasion of the Iberian Peninsula.Finding out will take time, so I ask for a little patience with this theatre. The team has worked very hard to revive this theatre, sometimes even spending more than 10 hours a day to do so
and in my personal case investing absolutely all my free time in it.That being said, we appreciate you flying this theater. We are still working on improving it, but it will take some time. Regards

@Apolo27
Merry Christmas. I love the theater just thought that Spain was able to be used. Thanks so much for the work that has been done to make this happen. We are still going to use the theater just had to choose a different airport than what we originally wanted because of the location. -

i’ve done a successful test in Kurile theater for troops moving across Nemuro Strait.
you need to create a fake sea tile with road definition data and SEA texture, and pave the tile across the strait… thus creating fake routes for GUs. -
@ccc1tw Hi, thank you very much for the help…we will try your solution and see if it works in that theatre. A very clever idea. Thanks for your input.
-
Gracias por el mapa y que lo podamos disfrutar todos.

@ccc1tw
I use fake sea tiles (with water areas for splashes) for PT boats and small corvettes in my theater - these coastal shallow water routes are independent and disconnected from legacy road system.But I was thinking about amphibious operations a lot. I would suggest to use rather fake bridge tile for it (road + bridge paths there).
I already prepared such an amphibious areas in Berdyansk, Odessa and Crimea.
My idea was to place invisible bridge objects (with transparent icon or just spot icon)…then place LSTs in predefined spots overlapping bridge geometry.
If LST killed, no amphibious landing for reinforcements possible.Units can be spawned via reinforcement script/trigger in proper time imo.
I wanted to make it even more story dependent as…flota/fleet reach objective x,y (fleet not destroyed) - it triggers reinforcement in landing area, spawning LSTs over invisible bridges - defender have limited time to kill LSTs/bridges -> units stacked in fake water then - easy target…

@ccc1tw thanks for sharing!

@Lukas, the bridge idea is not bad at all! In fact, you could create a bridge feature with an LST model easily for 3D and if it gets destroyed, it disappears; once repaired, it “spawns” back.
Looking forward to how you implement it and reading more from you.

@Maru
I considered it at first, but it means LSTs would be visible in the beginning…good if campaign starts with amphibious landing.On the other hand if it starts as invisible/destroyed and there will be engeneer unit spawned/triggered at certain point…
I will reconsider it -
Gibraltar has accordingly been updated to 4.37.6, presenting new additions and many bug fixes.
- Campaign; Cities now have civilians. Avoid targeting them in order not to get court-martialed
- Dogfight; SPAF has been recently added. You can now use one of the EF against other opponents
If you have Gibraltar already installed, use the updater. Enjoy!

-
@Maru Great addition to the theater… Ultra fast update as always…you are the best and you know it
Todo por la patria! -
@Maru Thank for the quick update. Our Sqn is currently flying this Theatre. Do we need to restart the campaign in 4.37.6 or can we continue the one we started in 4.37.5?
