Hi folks, in reddit I heard some comments about 4.37.7 stability. Although it is not clear what is happening, I would really like to understand more about the issues.
I saw CTDs about sound, bad configs but so far nothing concrete. To be very clear, 4.37.7 is a very small update, only minor changes (mostly trivial CTD fixes and some performance updates) and a bigger change in the light manager to fix and expand light functionality in BMS.
Our bad luck was that AMD also released driver updates close to 4.37.7 release, so some weirdness can come from this. For example, icon transparency was foobared in the latest driver.
I am not saying we did not introduce any regressions. We tested as best as we could for almost 2 months (internally and last couple of weeks externally) and not a single CTD was reported. So, if there is an issue with 4.37.7 please let me know. Maybe we missed something.
If it is working well for you, feel free to say as well so we have an idea if those are isolated cases or not.

@Seifer we have run 10 MP events on 37.7 all in the ballpark of 15-20+ players. So far I’m only aware of a single report of a CTD, but couldn’t get a hand on the users dmp. Will further try to keep track on feedback of our events

@Simmo seems to be having problems initializing audio
BMS is very sensitive, to having a full working audio device path

@airtex2019 So if I set the audio output in Windows to anything other than the Pimax speakers it runs. Any ideas on how to fix this?

@airtex2019 well i just had a ctd in my somalia campaign. just at the time my gbu-53 hit a group of bunched up enemies i saw the impact in my tgp and my ctd. my crashlog is stating clearcachedlights in objectinstance.h. Probably related to the .7 update.

@Obi1 Same thing happens to me when B-52 use AGM-86 On an airbase strike. I did a lot more testing in a TE and found If i give them 2-3 Missiles on impact it wont crash, anything more CTD the minute all the explosions start. But this does not occur with similar weapons. If i give those same B-52s AGM-158’s all of them explode with no problem. The crash log is always centered around “Cache lights” or something of the nature

@Seifer Based on the message from Trigger, I made a TE with 2 B-52 on a strike mission with a bunch of AGM-86 and a couple of F-16’s to watch them from. The B-52’s didn’t release the AGM’s as far as I could tell. I had an outside view of one of the B-52’s and walked away letting it run and forgot about it. I came back and noticed the sim was not running anymore because it CTD’d. The bomb bay doors are open but I didn’t get to see if they ever dropped anything. I did get a dmp file from it though at this link:

@TeeSquare that’s a separate issue I didn’t want to raise here about them not firing. If you do anything more than a singleton the 2,3,4 will fire number 1 almost never fires but when the rest do CTD

@Trigger Excellent, bug confirmed. Unfortunately, this specific part was not flagged (my mistake), so only next release will fix this.
EDIT: actually, it is possible that code is just showing a problem with data. Ill dig deeper, but I also have a fix for code in case I cannot find anything wrong with data.

@Seifer For the time being should we just avoid certain weapons that may have larger blast radius? Is there a way to avoid it until a patch basically?
