15ft miss from a 18.000ft drop, that’s pretty amazing for a dumb bomb.

F4RADAR v0.55 is out, a lightweight standalone radar application. Read more here

@regev Better results at FL180?!? Use a precision guided munition! Either a laser or GPS guided Mk 82! (GBU-12, GBU38, or GBU-54).

From that Altitude there is no way to his the bullseye other than by luck. And actually…10-15 feet for a 500 lb bomb is pretty much on target! It’s blast radius is generally about 50-ish feet. OR, You can try a lower altitude (10000-ish ft)

So don’t strive for accuracy; instead work on consistency. Consistently put the bomb in the circle of the bullseye or close enough to the target to cause damage. OR just go with precision guided weapons.

That’s literally why they have dropped thousand upon thousand upon thousands of those things. Because they’re dumb. 🙂

On my campaign missions i always use the fancy bombs to get the best accuracy.

On the TE i just wanted to have some fun with old school bombs.

So you say the results i had is good, this is also fine by me.
The bombs do damage the target each time.
On one instance the 3rd bomb destroyed it (from 10-15ft distance).

I guess if i drop 2/3 bombs at once i will get one of them to hit in the middle of the target (the less dumb one . . . 🙂 )

Practicing now the MK.82 with a TE i built.

Using the training range and the target is the BULLSEYE object.

I am always at fl180/330knots. Each time i drop 1 bomb in CCRP mode. Tried upwind & downwind. Tried Drift CO switch NORMAL\Down position.
Using the TGP to put the cursor on the target (PTR1).
Tried to put it at target center\few feet after target\few feet before target.

All the bombs hit at about 10-15ft from the target center (some before target, some after).

Any tips to get better results ?

As other have said be happy with this. In fact in RL the accuracy would be much, much, much less. The dispersion of the dumb bomb at such alt. in RL in the hunderds of feet range… This is what I really miss from the sim, the bomb dispersion modeling.

This picture you shared, is it based on RL or SIM ?

                    Bombs hits picture

As you can see in the picture, 4 X 1 bomb drop each time . . . it is as the system deliberately deny 100% hit 🙂

That is AMAZING for a dumb bomb man!

You have to consider that wind CHANGE with altitudes (speed and sometimes direction)… The wind in FL180 is going to be different in lower altitudes… your CCRP cannot correct the wind in lower levels.

                      Greetings from Brazil!
