      Hi guys!

Could anybody tell me if (in BMS4.32 or any previous version of Falcon4), AWACS is giving spontaneously the posit bulls or a BRAA to incoming enemy fighter threat (without any request from player)?

I can’t remember if it actually the case, or if it is in my mind.

Thank in advance for your help!

Only one I can think of is when flying cap and you are assigned targets.

In Allied Force you used to get calls from AWACS letting you know that there bandits nearby, even if you didn’t request picture, and even if you weren’t in Sweep/DCA roles. In 4.32 that does not happen. In 4.32 if you are in a Sweep role AWACS will try to vector you to bandits without querying, but it will not warn you of nearby threats like AF did.

I remember the same behavior (like Demo described for AF) in previous versions of Falcon4.
(not AF)… but I can’t tell you when it got lost.

            Cheers,

              Thank you guys!

But so … AF only or not AF only? 😉

                Not AF only.

I flew F4 1.06/1.08, eRazor and ibeta, SP series, early BMS (0.97-0.99 IIRC),
then BMS 1.03 with FF DB, BMS 2.0+SP4.x and OF.

BTW. there are so many little things which got lost by the years …
But you know I’m thankfull for what we have with BMS 4.32. 😉

                Edit:
… and IIRC the context was similar to:
“Falcon 1-1, Sentry 1, be advised, enemy aircraft bearing xxx, xx miles.”

                Cheers,
                LS

Yes, in certain mission types (Sweep, for sure; CAP maybe too), AWACS will call you and assign targets by BRAA/BE.

Awacs threat calls are not lost in 4.32.

But there are some bugs , the calls arz inconsistant. The bug comes from original MPS coding so every f4 variant is affected (they may have fixed it in AF though)

I ocasionally hear “warning, enemy launch activity detected” but I’m not sure if that’s about aircraft (I assume it is) and I can’t from the top of my head recall if there was a bullseye/BRAA with that call…

I don’t remember hearing it in TE’s either, so could be it’s only in campaigns, to indicate a QRA has launched to intercept you?

                          Does not work in TE

Funny enough, I can remember this call clearly from Falcon3 but don’t recall ever hearing it in F4, any flavour!

launch activity detected is when some aircraft are taking off

Which reminds me of of an error or ‘bug’. Sometimes during ramp start there will be a ‘launch activity detected’ or ‘enemy aircraft detected’ call. It will be for something like BE 220, 300 miles. Given BE default is somewhere near the DMZ, this puts the offending AC WAY behind BlueFor lines …. out in the in the middle of the Yellow Sea. Also, coincidentally, at the very edge of the game map.

(Probably known …. just FYI in either case.)
