I did not manage to make the Saitex X65 perform as it should and now role back to win7

            Details:
after installing Win10 I updated to the latest Drivers and the Latest STT software.

This most likely messed up the registry fix that removes the twist stick rudder axis and adds the microstick as DX axis.

The DX button number was also changed. e.G H2 (I use that one as TMS) had different DX buttons connected to it and I had to put the buttons to the right function in F4s config editor.
This would all been minor issues that could have been solved.

            The big issue:
I use the Mode selector not to switch between different modes but as the missile override / cancel / dogfight override mode switch.
            Under win 7 Moving this created a single M / C / Nothing/ D

            Under win10 this creates Press and hold M / C / Nothing /D
So with the think in DF override Mode position it creates Ds all the time.
Even worse: When the switch is not in the neutral position (where neiter M nor C nor D is pressed) there are frequent CTDs clearly related to saitek.

I hope that high quality hotas designed for Win10 becomes available again.

Right now we have the choice between
            crappy software (Saitek)
            Crappy hardware (Thrustmaster)
            and crappy looks (CH Products)

Maybe I was a bit hasty in blameing MS for this. Might be that the issue was created by Saitek driver update.

              I´ll report back again

You might be right. I just checked out the Saitek driver site and they don’t list Win 10 drivers for the -65. And as you probably know, Saiteks are finicky about drivers.
One more reason I won’t be doing Win 10 until I absolutely have to

I tried everything I could think of now.

With Win 7 my older drivers and/or saitek programming software shows the desired behaviour

Moving the Mode selector thing on the Trottle (I do not use it as mode selector at all) creates a single keypress M / C / D
With the latest driver and software it does MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM …/CCCCCCCCCCCC… / DDDDDDDDDDDDD… as long as the mopde selctor mover is one on of those positions where it creates keypresses. This A) crashes windows which complains about the saitek drivers and B is annoying as hell (and might even make some inputs unusable.

Until Saitek releases dedicated Win10 drivers I am probably ****ed (and even then it is doubtful)

Hans, Hopefully it may help to know it may not be a driver issue, as it sounds like I get the same thing (the endless c,d,or m). I have a -65 on Win 7.
I have mode 2 DFT,mode 3 cancel, and mode 4 MRM. I left Mode one alone. I noticed that if I leave the switch in 2-4 is does that endless key press and occasionally freaks the system out. I just have to remember to go back to mode 1, and manually hit C on the keyboard. All this is with the “function initiation feature”(or whatever it’s called) .
If you have tried removing the mode select function, that could be an issue ,as well. At first I had tried simply turning the mode switch into a simple 4 way, but for some reason that really messed my system up, even though you’re supposedly able to do that. I had to go back to making it the mode switch, and using the Func. Init.
                    Hope that helps

With driver 6,8,0,49 and software version 6,8,0,52 i get single mcd under win7
The same drivers give repeated entrys under win10

Maybe that helps you out. I use the mode switch as a 4way. If interested i could attach the joystick file next week. Not at home right now.

So, has anyone found a solution to this issue. I just upgraded to Windows 10 and my X-65 is also doing the Continuous Key Presses. Let me know please……

                          S,
I never got a solution to make the modes switch a stable D/C/M switch, although I see where some people were able to. The best I achieved was what I wrote in the earlier post. Frankly, I gave up on that and made Hat 5 the “dogfight” switch.
Considering that some of us are having the same issue on Win 7, I tend to lean toward Saitek as the cause,

I was experiencing the same problem on Windows 8.1 with the 7.0.45.0 driver and programming software. I was able to approximate the old behavior of single key presses by using the “new advanced command” screen to program the key presses. Don’t have a Windows 10 machine to test this workaround but it may be worth a try. Best of luck.
