      Good evening,

I have been away from BMS for sometime but just got back into it after treating myself to a new Warthog!

My issue (and I don’t recall it being an issue several months ago) is that when I first launch the game I have to drop my desktop native resolution down to 1280 x 720 which allows me to navigate the UI. When I launch a mission the screen then goes black and minimises; at this point I then have to change my resolution back to 1920 x 1080 (the same as in the games graphics settings).

Is there any fix that would enable me to not have to keep changing my desktop resolution in between flying and the UI?

I am running GeForce GTX 675m in SLI on the latest Nvidia drivers; Win 7 64bit.

I’ve had a look around the forum but couldn’t find any help with this issue.

If I remember correctly, your game resolution should match your native resolution. I have always run it like this and never had a problem, although I did buy a bigger screen once, and the game wouldn’t launch correctly until I made the two resolutions the same. Don’t remember exactly if I had the same symptoms as your are having, but it would only take a few minutes to try and see.

Hi thanks. Both game and native resolutions are set to 1920 x 1080. The issue is upon launch the UI can’t seem to handle this resolution and minimises. Once I change the native resolution to 1280 x 720 and restore BMS the UI works fine, then when I launch a mission I get a blank screen and it minimises again, so I have to readjust the native resolution back to 1920 x 1080.

Are you running in full screen or windowed mode?

                @Wriggler:

                I’m running in full screen

You could try running the UI in windowed mode (the simulation itself should still run in full screen):

                1. Start the BMS launcher → Configuration. Go to Hardware → External Displays.

                2. Mark the “1. Cockpit Displays to External Windows” patch. Click “Apply Changes”. Exit the configurator.

                3. From the BMS launcher → Cockpit Display Extraction.

                4. For all items on the appearing window list, set “left” and “top” coordinates to 0.

                5. Disable the borders for the main window.

                6. [Optional] If you don’t need the extracted displays, you can untick the “Enabled” mark for all items on the same window list except for the main window, which you can’t disable.

                7. Hit “Save and Exit”.

                8. [Optional] If you want the 2D UI to be centered on your main screen, change the following setting in BMS\User\Config*falcon bms.cfg* file from 0 to 1:

                  set g_bCenterUI 0

This method should give you the windowed UI of BMS.

Well it appears the solution was to create a shortcut instead of using the launcher and setting the target file to run in windowed mode.

                  Thanks for everyone’s help!

Is there a way to make the main screen go over THREE monitors. The fourth monitor would like to use helios.
