Nice Upload Shadow… Are you living at the exchange building?
-
Thanks Ram for your help.
Currently rebuilding the patches files from scratch as it was a fair mess. sorting for backward compatibility for existing default campaigns and looking to add current squads in as relevant to recent additional theatres as well as the those active squads in our sphere of activity.
And still leave space for future additions.
PS: Coco its all down hill after you leave the server.

I need a little help.
I tried to add my own squadron patch to one of the Korea campaigns.
Creating the 96pix 16bit tga-file, Unpack, Pack with F4ResTool worked fine.
Then I tried to open save0.cam from \data\campaign\korea\ with TacEdit v2.47 BUT
there is not a single entry in the list for units.
What’s wrong? -
That one happens to me most times that I try to set TE back up again.
From memory, for me it tends to be the paths not set correctly. Should be a dialog window you can bring up somewhere under the File menu that needs paths for the theater you are editing.
If the paths are not set correctly, some or all of the parts of the files will not read.

What’s wrong?Open TacEdit: Go to File>Properties and the Properties box will appear.
Leave it open.Navigate to your \Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Campaign\SAVE folder. Click on the Windows address bar to highlight the path and copy it. Paste that path into the TacEdit Properties box Theater Directory. Leave the Properties box and TacEdit open.
Now navigate to your \Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\objects. Click on the windows address bar to highlight the path and copy that. Paste that path in the TacEdit Properties box Object Directory.
Click OK. Exit out of TacEdit and that will save the Data.
Re-Open TacEdit and you can now open the Save files and everything should appear. The Save folder is the Default Korea theater.
Lemme know how it goes.

Thanks, it works now!
-
Two questions.
-I open with notepad the patches.irc, it does not look like the one in the example. My contains just one line: [LOADRES] PATCHES_RESOURCE “art\resource\patches”
-Is this modification for each theater or just in the main resources file? Thanks!

Shouldn’t be any issue. Much hasn’t changed over the years concerning these files.
If you need help, let me know.

I do not know what to do here
-
Put a check mark in the box “Explore after unpack”.
Then click the Unpack button.
The folder with all the patches will open for you to see. It has all the .tga patch files and the patches.irc file.
You need to place your patch .tga file in there and then make an entry in the patches.irc file for your patch.
Just look at the format of the other entries. The last two entries are half the size of the .tga patch file. So if it is 88 x 66 then the entry would be 44 33
So say your patch is named Leandro.tga and is 96x96 in size, the entry would look as follows:
[LOADTRANSIMAGE] Leandro “Leandro.tga” 48 48
Then make sure you do a “Save” of the patches.irc file.
And you just copy and past your Leandro.tga artwork into this folder.
Once the artwork is in the folder and you have made the entry for the patch in the patches.irc, close the folder and click on “Pack” to pack it all back into a patches.idx file.
You’re done at that point.
If you make a mistake/typo in the entry in the patches.irc it will delete everything. So first make a backup of the patches.idx file and put it in a safe place. I usually put it on my desktop.
Good Luck, lemme know how it goes.

And on work path what folder is placed?
-
Point it to your Art>resource folder.
It’s not really important though, it’s just where the folder is held while you work on it. I have it pointed to my desktop in case I decide to keep the folder there and then just drop it into the Art folder when I want. That’s because I used to do a lot of work on patches.
