Arty, you can put away the grease. It doesn’t have any “fake” or “virtual” catapults. Just wheel chocks, AB+ & a few prays on the deck beforehand. :pray2:
Real men do it without catapults. :crazy:

Do you find the smoke that different?
Well of course in sim its limited to the PS effects constraints, but I don’t think the RL smoke in that picture is “heavier”. -
Anyway I am only joking, just found a pic and thought to share it for the specific model. No requests to change something on this.

I’d suggest make that smoke trail thinner.
Boilers burning fuel incompletely proudce thick smoke - several early sailing kuz pics show thinner smoke. of course, the latest cruise produced horrible smoke due to poor boiler maintenance.

Well of course in sim its limited to the PS effects constraints, but I don’t think the RL smoke in that picture is “heavier”.And all images close to shore captures not the optimal steady working condition of the Kuz because the whole system is “cold” after ignition and start. Anybody check images how it smokes on the open sea. The ship is moving but the smoke is much less strong and dense.
The ship is moving but some density is nowhere close to on other images. Of course you can find images without smoke but on that images if you check the nose of the ship you can see it is not moving…

Well the trail I created for this effect is pretty much basic. I think with some more research, a better result can be achieved. I’m also not sure if there is some data that is passed to the trail in order to make it thinner/larger, we do have such parameters that a trail can use, but IIRC there is no use of that in this case. It could possibly be nice to distinct smoke of different ships this way.
If someone wants to edit the trail and get something nicer, please feel free.
