      Hi All,

Anyone else with Win10 noticing this? Every time I start TrackIR, it gives me a prompt from UAC saying this:

Since when did TrackIR make changes to my computer? Is this a bug, or is it something that always happens? I never had it with win7 or win8.1.

      Thanks 🙂

just a guess - perhaps because it can listen to keypresses of other programs (center/pause/etc)?

such behaviour would be a hint for keylogger if you won’t trust the program.

Another guess, if the program is located in C:\Program Files, and it stores its configuration in the application folder, the OS notices it due to the program files folder is also the property of more elevated authority.

Microsoft wants software developers to store non program essential files (for example configuration files) in the user configs folder, or in the common files folder for global settings.

I seem to have fixed it. Not sure how. I updated the game profile button and it doesn’t do it anymore. Maybe that was it?

I can’t get trackIR to startup with Windows 10. I’ve tried the radio buttons in the program and adding a link to the startup folder. I know that the software has a hard time “remembering” settings and needs to be manually turned off to save preferences, but that didn’t help.

            Anyone else?

Did you do the upgrade or a clean install?

Mine worked both ways. Maybe try it in Win7 compatibility mode? Or reinstall the software?

I did an upgrade from a clean win 7 install. I tried to do a clean install at first, but apparently it’s only possible once you’ve already done an upgrade install?? I read that somewhere. I hate upgrade installs and would have preferred a clean install, but i don’t have it in me to reinstall everything again.

Thanks for the confirmation. I’ll give compatibility mode a shot.

Yeah - thats why I did both methods. Upgrade first then clean install.

Good luck with the TIR - I hope it works 🙂
