Progressing the upgrade

So as some people know I’m currently in the early stages of upgrading 3 viper pits from the old openfalcon to the mighty bms. I installed a low spec test pc as a proof of concept and we are happy with how its performing. It is important to note that these 3 sims have very specific uses as they are used as a training resource for teenagers, so that’s why some of my questions may be slightly more specific/strange.
So the reason I post is to see if there’s a way of tweaking a few items, none of these are majorly important, they would just cut down the number of complications to get past when using the sims. So here I go:
With bms we are now looking at using the HUD view that can be activated by pressing 1, we like this because it leaves everything clear and easy to read on a projector and adds immersion when sat in the pit. The only snags that we’ve encountered with this are the fact that it comes on quite zoomed in and although you can make the HUD smaller using the scroll wheel to zoom, we wanted to know if there was a way to make it default to the right size, I tried playing about a bit with default FOV in the config but I don’t think it affected the HUD view. The other little thing we have is that it defaults to the 3d pit when loading up the game, is there a way of changing it to bring up the HUD display automatically?
Another thing that we use a lot of are the tactical engagements, when we create and save TEs they go to the saved section, just like you’d expect, however, is there a way of putting a certain few into the training section for less complicated access?
My final question is about the radar returns on the FCR, in bms, they are white squares however in of they are yellow squares, I dowt this is possible but is there a way of tweaking it so that it displays the yellow squares instead? We use mfdextractor to put the MFDs onto a separate monitor.
Thanks in advance for any help.

there is a key to hide the cockpit, and if I remember correct, everything but the hud. This might be interesting for you.
I think I have seen it in one of the standart key files, but I don’t know anymore what they’re named.searched: Shift + Ctrl + e for OTWToggle3DEmptyShell -1 0 0X12 3 0 0 1 “View-Toggle empty cockpit shell”
Take a look at (first one has also yt video for demonstration): https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?15686-View-without-cockpit&highlight=hide+Cockpit and https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?13212-Hide-3d-Cockpit-(only-HUD)-and-TrackIR-functional-Would-this-be-possible&highlight=hide+Cockpit.
