      Hey guys,

I’m in need of a little bit of advise and help here.

Is there any way to get bullseye coordinates on a target you locked up in your HAD?
I have no problems in sucessfully using the HARM and its various modi, but no clue on how to get the exact coordinates/position in relation to bullseye of a SAM for RECON purposes or target confirmation within the flight/package.

Thanks in advance for your help.

      Greetings,

      Mobius

I may be wrong cause I’m away from home, but if you switch your left mfd to the HSD whilst you designate in the HTS in the right MFD, the HSD will show cursor bullseye at bottom left.

This might disappear in the future, because TD box in HUD for HAD is not realistic and do not exist IRL.

First of all thank you all for your answers.

I tried your approach but the bullseye coordinates on the HSD are apparently always slaved to the AG Radar Cursor, even if the HAD is SOI.

My method is to have the HAD on the left, HSD on the right. I set them to have the same range scale so that the pictures are the same. Then I can move the HSD cursor around and just ‘eyeball’ the position - when the cursor is in the same spot as the target, I read out the B/E coordinates.

Helpful for passing LOWDOWN to follow on flights.

Yes, or rather they are cursor and SPI. There are situations where AG FCR position and SPI are not in the same place.

That’s very good but is there some way to make HAD cursor SPI or otherwise properly get numerical position (BZ or L/L) out of HAD?

Not sure … but in case on HAD, cursors are not really associated to SPI. Consider cursors more like the cursors you have in HAS page (section, not SPI). HUD symbology is almost identical to HAS modes.

Except some very specific modes (PT mode) available only on some a/c block and if working in rework within a given geometry on a given target … etc … , HAD (HTS) can’t provide precise geo coordinates. No pinpoint with GPS guided munitions like you do with TGP or radar or SPI.

Hopefully 4.33 will give us more functionality with the SPI, like designating a SPI with the FCR or TGP and slaving a weapon to it (eg Rifle).

… This will require a huge work of mechanization and relearn almost everything. This time , beginners might have a little advantage. 😉 Not easy to lose old habits.
