Really looking great. But i have 1 question.
You are constructing this pit in a designer tool (3dmax, paint, paintshop, photoshop….whatever i am no designer)
What is the change that this nicely designed pit with your Tools is gonna be converted/implemented into a real (working) pit in Falcon???Hey Spit…All the renders you see are from 3dsMax with textures limited to 2048*2048 (2 textures at the moment), the textures themselves are a mix of microstation, illustrator and photoshop. The chances of this making it into BMS are up to the community, I will need someone to show me the first steps of importing a cockpit into BMS with LodEditor or willing to do it for me!

I cant tell you that, I am new to ALL of this.
But if I´m able to “bake” a nice ambient oclusion layer on the textures it shouldnt look too far off…less crisp of course cause the view in-game will be closer and you might be able to start seeing pixels on the textures at some point…
But maybe someone with some more expertise can illuminate us with their knowledge!

A quick one again!
I´ve been playing around with some textures for the floor and the side of the consoles, not fitting properly yet I know!..I think it looks quite nice. Although not too realistic I like the contrast of the dark blue…I have to think about it…
Please note the circuit breakers!! 100% accurate… or maybe 90%

Thanks guys! I am the first one amazed of how good it’s looking although I shouldn’t say it. I can tell you that A LOT of work has been put into it as well as a fair amount of love, I must say. To see it looking so sexy makes me want to work on it even more so it’s great!
For me the biggest surprise is how good it feels to UVW Unwrap and then the creation of the textures from scratch…by far the most fun of this project for now has been in Photoshop!

Are you in relation with one (or more) BMS 3D molders?
Are you aware about polycount restrictions? (around 50.000 triangles IIRC … but not sure !?)

Somebody said 30,000 on this thread but 50,000 sounds much better It is still unoptimized so triangle count at this stage is not reliable but I am at 40,000 already. Most of the geometry is there already so it´s not too bad…hmm with no ejection seat though so I will have to check with! I am not in contact with anyone from BMS, I´ve tried to via PM but lets just say they were “sharp” with their answers, I guess too busy…or not interested…hard to say… I will just keep going forward I guess…at the moment the renders at least make a decent Desktop image on my PC!
Anyway glad you like it!
