Replacing cockpit, keep wings

I know there was a post somewhere on how to replace a cockpit, but be able to see the wings of the a/c you want to fly. I.E. replace f/a18 cockpit with f16, but see the f/a18 wings with weapons. I did find a post that said put an “x” on renaming some files, but I don’t want to do that. All that does is give you the f16 cockpit with wings, but when you look at your wings it’s f16 with a jacked up load showing. If I remember right there were files or something that needed to be downloaded, but I can’t find the thread anywhere. Any ideas or where to find the instructions? Thanks.

I think the wings are with the pit, don’t know how to change

It isnt.
Wing model is different from cockpit model.
If you want to see or to Check cockpit model in lod editor.
Open cockpit.dat files with notpad or etc. in art/ckptart folders.
Its parent no writes in dat files. if you want change parent no with other wing parent numbers.
