My buddy and i tried to fly together online

I hosted a server, he joined (we have tried to forward the ports and open firewall) i started the mission, he saw the mission, he clicke do it and… He could cklick on my mission, but he couldn’t choose a squadron and he couldn’t hit the commit button.
He’s running on windows 10 like me but he installed it on win.10 i on win 8.1 and upgraded it. Does anyone know what is going on? i already flew with another friend without problems on my server.

      Thanks in advance

Was it one of the pre-built training TEs?

I’m a bit fuzzy on what you mean by “mission.” Do you mean joining the campaign or joining a flight once in the campaign? Does dogfight work or no?

I have to agree with Frederf I also have windows 10 and I dont have any issues, sounds like hes not doing something right to be honest, if you guys can join in a TE or a campaign but not the flight when you make one, make sure hes name is in the flight itself it wont go and commit unless hes in a flight, thats the only reason I can think of why it wont work

He tried it without AV and Firewall

We didn’t tried Dogfight, but we tried Campaign on others Server

He can join my server, then i’m starting a mission, he’s clicking online and sees my game, he clicks on the name, but the map doesn’t appear and he can’t choose the squadron for flying. But i can fly on my mission.

What are your Internet connection specs. (Wired, Wireless, DSL, ADSL, ect) Have you done a Test to a regional Server and a international server ? http://www.speedtest.net/

And what connection bandwidth are you entering in your “COMMS” list item ??

And where are you, Solomon islands, Siberia ? And your friend. ?

Are you both entering a suitable “BANDWIDTH” 350 or above ??

For the client 1024 is probably the max needed.

We tried it with 350,500,1000,300, nothing changed

General rule of thumb: Host bandwidth should be set at 80% of upload speed (as tested at speedtest.net).

Each Client bandwidth is usually a multiple of 256, i.e. 256, or 512, or 1024. No reason to go higher.

The sum of all clients must be less than what the host allocated. Example, I have 5Mb/s upload, so 80% is 4Mb/s. That’s 4096 in ?Kb/S.

If my clients set their bandwidth to 1024, I can only host 4 (4096/1024); at 256 for each client I can host 16 (4096/256).

                            LOL

so you think this is the problem?

Because i hosted a server with BW 1000 for me and a friend even if i have an Uploadspeed of 15Mbt/s

but ok i’ll have a look

No, what you did was good. If you set your Host at 1000 - 10000 all should have been good.

Must be a problem at your friends end. We some times see people who say they have a great connection but exhibit inconsistent problematic behavior and may drop out two or three times a session.

Is he hard wired to His router or wireless connected on His LAN ?

I’m just saying that the host BW allocation has to accommodate the client BW request. It is not unusual for new(er) users not to realize that the Host BW is the amount of BW that will be provided for the sum of the clients. I don’t know your specific experience …. if this is too fundamental, you should of course ignore it.
