New NVIDIA drivers
-
I installed them, jury is still out. I thought I saw some stuttering with no changes in my settings from previous driver. Will keep checking.
-
310.70 created blue screen of death using XP, so reverted to 306.81. Is it God’s way of telling me it’s time to enter the 21st century and upgrade to Win 8 64-bit? (and new mobo, CPU, RAM etc etc)?

Yeah… probably. It seems to be one of his methods to get the economy boosted during the holidays.

Me too, strong stuttering once in a while when looking in certain directions, but not lower fps. Stutters are even at 40-50 fps. I’m rolling back if this continues.

Yup, me too. In fact it seems to me that the more Multi-players, the worse it is. It’s not that bad, but I think I may roll way back to even older drivers. I always thought they were more stable and I had better frame rates overall. But the 306 drivers weren’t bad.

More stable drivers? I challenge you for that. Does your drivers crash or bluescreen your machine often?
To me all drivers past some 200 (or 150) have been good quality. Some different characteristics yes, but good quality.300+ series has had multiple seems parallel vsync (so that one screen does not slow the others), so I am happy with those. These newest looked good to me, but admitted I didn’t have much time with them.

Maybe stable was the wrong word. What I meant was that with some drivers I experience very minor stutters. Others I have none at all. Frame rates are always pretty close to the same, but with some drivers I can have more eye candy on without dropping frame rates too low. I never get a CTD or anything like that. I think the 285.62 drivers were the best for my setup. But remember, I have two 560TI’s and am extracting everything. So, what works good for me, may not work as good for someone else. And what doesn’t work for me may work for others. It all depends on the system and the hardware/software setup.

@RPG:
Well there is also the possibility that things you have installed now were not installed when you were using a previous driver, so you should always check whats running in the background before making a decision about drivers, but yeah I think I’ll try 285.62.
I pretty much have the same stuff running with Falcon. Yes, I have added, removed, added again, removed again, and again, some other stuff over time, but usually end up right back where I started 277.?? was pretty good too.

Ok after flying more with the 310 drivers I hafta take back my nod to them. They cause a bit more lag on the ground compared to the 306.97 drivers but where it REALLY showed was when I was flying multiplayer and NOE into a target area. It was hitching on my system a LOT with the 310 drivers. Never noticed that as a problem with the 306 drivers so I reverted back. /sigh

I realize that with moder drivers 3xx.x and multimonitors for MFD extraction there will be an important drop of framerate if you mix 32bit color dept for Falcon and 16bit color dept for instruments and MFD extraction (Nvidia GTX 560TI ) The best framerate for my is when I put all the monitors to 32bit color dept.

Known… else the drivers and hardware has more calculations to do.

I just dropped in a EVGA 560ti and was wondering what the best overall driver is for Falcon BMS?

I have the 580 and I use 306.97. Same one I used when I had your card. Newer drivers didn’t work as good.

It looks like 306.97 is for Win7&8. I am running WinXP

yep, I tried 310.70 and rolled back to 306.97 because of weird stutters looking into sun and lower fps.
