Also watch this tutorial by Krause:
This is how i’ve been learning, his videos are great.

Yeah thx for that, I to have used Krauses stuff and think they bloomin useful as well although I know the sound an SA10 makes now pretty well, and if I don’t do something quick about it I am also pretty conversant with the sound that follows… BOOM.

Yea i havent even played the campaign yet, havent even shot anything just getting used to flying, navigation, ramp start, take off and landing. Next gona work on ILS landing. Wanna build up my skills and knowledge, be able to do everything and then i’ll fly the campaign. I know about SAMs and aircraft weapons/sensors though from playing Command modern air/naval ops. That and Falcon BMS are all i’m playing now, though actually its just been Falcon lately.

I noticed in some of Krauses’ vids that in briefings he puts PPT steer points on SAMs, but are they just the ones that have been recce’d in game? can all the enemy SAMs/airbases/army HQ’s…i mean everything, can everything of the enemies’ be seen in the campaign without flying a mission to find it or another flight finding it?
-
Not everything…especially mobile SAM units not picked up by Recon.

Perhaps not seen, but pinpointed with the help of, was it the OOB?

To cns180784/Fenrir:
The way to be able to get a good idea where to put the PPT is this. Be zoomed in all the way on the 2D map and go through the enemies OOB looking for SAM systems. Once you find one in the OOB you select the unit and click on the find button. It will center the 2D map on the position of that unit but it will NOT give you a visual on the map, INS/GPS coordinates, or a recon of the unit to look at. Right click on the map, add and set the PPT to the proper system and try to center the PPT ring as much as possible to the center of the zoomed in 2D map and it will give you a good point for where the system is. Now obviously against mobile SAM systems like SA-6/SA-13 etc. this (and any PPT made from that) will only show you were it was at the time you created it. Depending on how long prior to the flight you created it changes how far off that PPT could be from it’s actual location.
