On a SEAD mission (or any A/G mission for that matter) is there a quick and easy way to get the bullseye of your target? Or a related question, what is the best way (i.e. fastest, easiest, most accurate) to get the bullseye of a selected steerpoint?

Let’s say you lock onto a target in HAD and fire a HARM at it, what is the best way to get the bullseye of the target so you can call it out to friendlies? The HSD would make sense, but you may not be able to pinpoint what you fired at on the HAD as the two sensors do not seem to have linked cursors, like in FCR. And it may take a bit of time to slew around to place the HSD cursor over your target to get a bullseye point. Is there a better way?

I wish there was, as well as a TOT. I just guesstimate from the HAD

never tried this but you could try and make a HUD markpoint where the HARM TD box is - I’m not super familiar with all the intricacies of the markpoints (and there are many!) so there might be something that makes this not possible like having to be in NAV mode or something - it would be pretty handy though because it gives you a steerpoint (and all the accompanying info that gives) and a data point to share with your flight.

if you do a map recon of the target and specifically the fan-song B radar you can see the exact position coordinates.

HUD mark is how I’ve seen people convert HAD/HTS contacts into bombable coordinates. Getting BZ from HAD contacts is hard. In practice I would just give ownship BZ and direction of shot. I’m not 100% sure what the point of BZ call for shooting is anyway.

I used HUD markpoint. This is not precise, as you might imagine.
A fun way to seek out for example SA15 an have a package flight engage it with LGBs

I think the OP wanted to know the Bullseye of the target so he can call out the weapon launch against that target. i.e “magnum SA2, bulls XXX XX.”
So others would know what he fired at. No wasting HARMs at the same target.

Don’t know how to get the bullseye, so you would have to use another “point” as a reference.

You could bring up your HSD, centralize it and put it on the same scale as the HAD. Then just make it SOI and slewing to the approximate location should give a pretty good fix on it.

If there are multiple sams devide them in cardinal directions (ie northern patriot or west hawk) if you do your briefing correct it should be easy to specify where the shot is made
