Started a fresh RF campaign with rookie difficulty. The campaign started off pretty fun. North sometimes sent massive bomber and fighter formations after us. I fragged the A-10 squadron on half day worth of massive 4-ship interdiction missions along the front line while my own f-16 squadron took care of SEAD, DCA and OCA missions. By the night fall, North’s ground force was reduced to about 30% of the full bar, aircraft to about 25%. Now the campaign starts to get boring, skies are empty of enemy planes and the Red’s front line is pretty thin with only a few under-strength battalions scattered around. But allied forces don’t seem to move much even though they outnumber the enemy by a big margin. I even got a video saying the new offensive got started, but nothing seems offensive. What should I do next? Speed up to x64 and chill? or keep fragging to go after those leftovers?

Others would be happy having air dominance ^^.
I guess in your situation I would set priority on OCA and target industrial factories, this way you can chill in the air, do some safe bomb runs.

By the way I would set some recon ops little bit behind the front line to check if there is really nothing going on behind the scene.

Oh and if many ACs got shot - check the weeds for helicopters perhaps.

do you even know what your campaign objectives are ?

so start thinking about the strategy to help your ground troops to progress…

          Cas Cas Cas and Oca

you can planned your own missions if ATO does not plan suitable missio s

dont forget airbases will be repaired…

and tbh RF in rookie is not real challenge…

… Additionally, KTO RF is not necessarily made to provide challenge, but rather to provide a pseudo-realistic scenario.

If you want more challenge, try “KTO Strong …”

What is the difference between KTO strong and ace level of KTO?

KTO Strong gives you some modern equipment to fight against. Much more challenging - but you’ll still be bored. Bored getting your ass handed to you on a plate! 😄

Seriously, RF in the Strong Theater vs Vets or Ace is a PROPER challenge (IMHO)

I like a kto scenario where dprk starts normal and after being degraded so much, Chinese and Russian come in with massive modern reinforcements. It’s always fun to have tougher challenges towards the end. Last time I beat RF, Chinese and Russian came in with only aircraft, no reinforcements on the ground. Though air battles became a bit more fun fighting su-27, mig-29c, but there are no t-90 or type99 to bust round.
Btw, Dee-jay, stop flying your boring turbo props. Haul ass get Balkans out of WIP. 😄 We need more well terrained new theatres.

Maybe BMS should remove all difficult levels below veteran, that would seperate the man from the boys

At higher difficulty, the AIs are smarter? Or just at higher difficulty, it’s a simply massive modern equipment spam?

Difficulty - Cadet thru Ace - relates to AI capability.

Like, rookie level AI only knows straight shots while Veteran or ace knows when and how to loft their shot?

I recommend to try '80s of Korea MOD where the opponent is not lame and tech gap is much smaller than in stock BMS4.

I had more thrill in my “boring” 50 tons turbo prop landing without lights in the desert by night level5 on a 1000*20m sand runway lighted with six light-sticks in water bottle than on jets performing circles in the sky.

First in, last out … respect the “turbo prop” sir, without them, fighters are rather pointless far from their home base. Never forget: The “real” war is taking place on the ground.

I tried Strong DPRK last night. Everything went well until I got hit by this nasty post mission freeze. I thought I fixed it by reducing the debriefing. Now it’s back again. Really frustrating. It was a great mission, 3Xsu30 kills, dodged at least 6 sams without chaff without any losses on own side. I am suspecting it may be because Strong DPRK theatre is a little less stable than the stock kto.

Did you record ACMI? If so, it can quite a while to ‘render’ and the exit screen is all you see until the rendering is finished. Nothing to do but wait it out.
