Changing Campaign in WDP
-
What I s the correct procedure to change theaters in WDP? I switch from Korea to BfB. Changing the airbase data and such went fine in WDP. I selected Battle for Balkans as theater.
When I go into WDP it tells me auto save is set to Korea and gives me “select 1 for Korea,0 for Balkans”, which I selected 0.Then, I get a message that Balkans.idj (extension may be incorrect, working off memory) is missing . -
it was probably looking for the .ppt file. i was getting that as well. not sure what i did to fix it. did you by chance make sure you saved the campaign and was opening that campaign save file? otherwise you could try saving you data card and that should update your call sign as well as you mission file for that campaign. which i believe will save the .ppt file

Did u restarted WDP?

And in this case, make sure the theater selected in BMS is the one that the mission belong to.
In your case BfB.
Getting a question about Korea or Balkans doesn’t look good. The message is fine and needed to be answered, but the Korea part is not good.Gr Falcas

Hi, Falcas, not sure what you mean, so excuse any indiscretion.
Thanks for the replies, folks…
Sir, I did try to save and all that. Yes, Arty, I did restart it. In fact I’ve tried on 3-4 separate missions.
Falcas, yes I am set up for BbB as the theater. Once again you’ve hit the key point. Balkans.idx is not on the list. Short of reinstalling WDP, I’m a little stumped as to what to do. -
In that case just point to the correct idx file, thats all.
You find the idx files where the missions are saved.Gr Falcas

That’s the point. WDP gives me" …Balkans.idx not found" which is why I’m stumped

And? What is the problem?
Click ok and you get a screen so you can point to the correct idx.Gr Falcas

Good Day, All,
I waited to reply until I had time to test things at home.
So, I went into BMS to an autosaved BfB campaign that I have been flying , “signed on” for a mission, and with package number in hand Alt-Tab to WDP(all completely normal)
Then I went into WDP, that was already set to BfB as theater, and went to 'open mission".
Went into Auto Save, got the “select yes for Korea, no for Balkans message” and selected no. I then got the" BMS4.32/data/campaign/save/Balkan’s.idx not found" message.
It gave me an option to browse, and when I did so I went to the list of idx files.
The following were the files listed-DEFAULT.idx
-korea.idx
-Strings.idx
No Balkans.idx. I tried Default and Strings, just to try, and that didn’t work.
And so, BMS compadres, I remain stumped. I’m tempted to download another WDP and set it up for Balkans -
Are you serious? Browse to your Balkans install…

yes balkans actully installs a seperate folder that will have all the same files, sometimes they may even be named the same as the korea one. inside of your falcon bms 4.32 folder you will see a data folder, and inside there you will find a folder called addon-balkan etc. Thats the one you need to be looking in for your files

Good Day, Sir,
Your tip was right on. I had no idea you had to use an entire other path. WDP doesn’t prompt that way, nor could I find anything in the manual.
For anyone else having the problem, that path is-c:/ BMS4.32/data/addon Battle for Balkans/standalone/campaign/Balkans.idx. Also, the theater settings in WDP is Balkans, NOT Battle for Balkans. I just tested it, and it’s working perfectly. I also think I understand what Falcas was blowing up on. It looks like once the paths are set in “open mission” you just select the one you want. It’s setting the path that’s the tricky part.
I should also point out that last night I reinstalled RedFlag and it did the same thing. However, From Data-add on redflag/standalone/campaign/Redflag.idx(btw:there are a lot of files with the idx, RedFlag.idx is about 3/4 the way down the list.) I didn’t test that or have BfS installed, but it should all work the same.
Anyway, I’m loving WDP, and thanks for the help.
And , Falcas, yes I’m serious but no hard feelings. Thank you for WDP! -
Glad to see it worked. I also love WDP, it helps alot in the game.
