This is bloody hard, the training script gives you hints like for jettisoning your 6 Mk82s and 370G tanks, but trying to guide the jet to land after the engine cuts off just seems way too difficult, almost impossible to me. I crash into the sea about a mile or bit more from the AB. Any hints anyone? i know that it says to balance airspeed with altitude but how is that done? once my engine cuts off i slow down and start to lose alt and just crash.

Once jettisoning try to gain as much altitude as you can before the engine flameout. Then it’s a matter of keeping the right downslope. Now I can’t remember, but in the manual it’s weel documented.

My only guess can be that you are holding onto your stores too long. I’ve flown this TE many times and the only time I had an issue is when I didn’t get rid of stores quickly enough. Just hold the emergency jettison button until you hear the carts go off. That’ll get rid of everything that can be gotten rid of then you will be able to make it back to the base every time. If you get rid of the stores immediately that is. It really should be the first thing you do when you get into the pit for that TE. Next is trading A/S for Alt. Don’t get so crazy about that trade that you stall the aircraft though.

Id agree with most of it, but Id change the order around to match the CAPs items. Zoom first, capturing 225 KIAS, and jettisoning stores if required (it is in this case). You can do the jettisoning in the zoom, but the first thing to do is trading extra airspeed away for altitude, limiting drag and thus increasing glide range.

Once established on 225KIAS, check where the FPM is. If its above the airfield, you can make it. If its below the airfield, you can’t make it. Can’t stretch a glide, sorry.

jettison doesn’t sound like to be the prob. I think it is the throttle. Make sure after you immediately jettison that the throttle is on lowest power, that way you don’t loose all the fuel still left before the complete blackout. I myself gain some altitude with that left over fuel.
