      Current version: 1.1, January 2, 2016

      Hi,

After some work my app is now ready for release. Thanks to Red Dog and Neystratiou for the charts permission, and sir_quacks for the icon and help on ideas.

      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oldgoat5.bmstacticalreference

*Data Card size can be set in the settings page.
*Bingo values from the BMS manuals, and from BMS team post.
*Release planner will warn you if you are below MSRA, and standard visibility conditions for usaf.
*Most Release planner equations are created from physics, the unavailable equations (cluster splash pattern) are calculated based on Cubic Spline Interpolation by the Realism Patch 5 table data. (estimation follows the curve of the table, rather than simple linear estimation between points).

      Features:

-Self-filling Data card, with results from fuel and release calculators.
-Tactical Reference containing munitions and stores.
      -Loadable charts into data card
      -Bingo fuel value calculator.
      -Searchable Brevity Dictionary.
      -Default frequency reference.
      -Navigation Steerpoints reference.
      -ILS checklist.
-Aegean Theater 1.5 charts by Neystratiou, used with permission.
-Korea and Balkan Theater charts by Red Dog, used with permission.
-Level bomb release planner, based on equations by RP5 manual.

      Icon by Sir_quacks

      More features coming soon:

      -More release profile equations
      -takeoff speed calculator
      -Nearest airport finder
      -Increased Tactical Reference

I will research how to do it, if the files are in a easy format, sure no problem will be really easy.

Another excellent tool thanks. Is it feasable to have an A to Z across the top of the brevity dictionary OR a flick switch A -Z / Z-A to speed access

Thanks a ton for your excellent work! Will it work on a tablet in landscape mode, too?

                            Hi Cobalt,

Nice idea, something like this? http://s3.amazonaws.com/helpmecode/tutorials/12/xJ8tq.png

If so, I can surely do it.

                            Hi Uwe,

Yes, it has been tested on landscape modes, as well as on a tablet. If you have any issues, please let me know, maybe even a screenshot if something looks off. There are different data card sizes selectable in the settings menu, depending on the size of your screen you may want a larger or smaller size.

Down or across is all good but even the A -Z / Z-A (high low, low high) switch similar to how windows folder contents can be sorted would be good. But its still very useful just as it is anyway. Thanks

Adding datacard sections for some new stuff like laser codes, and need to add 4.33 korea charts. Been real busy with school stuff, but I’ll focus on smaller updates.

OK, now the important question. I know computers, how to build them and maintain them. But I have never had a tablet of any kind. I have a basic cell phone that never rings, and I like it that way. So, If I wanted to buy, say an 8-10" device to use this software on, what should I get? I don’t care about using it as a phone, but I would want Wi-Fi. I have been on eBay and Amazon looking at hundreds of them, but cannot make up my mind. I would like to spend less than $200. Yes I am a cheap bastage 🙂 Just some advise would be appreciated.

I’ve installed it on my phone, it’s really easy to use, a hard one ( in all senses) like me even got to understand something at my first attempt.
I gave it five stars on Google Play, you really deserved it, OldGoat, you’re skilled indeed.
                                          Bravo!

                                          Best regards,

Hmm… as long as it has at least Android 4.1 it is fine. I just use my phone, Samsung Galaxy S4. I would suggest getting one that could meet some other needs you may have too. A few people use the Samsung Tab4, but I don’t have any tablet besides emulators and borrowed ones for testing. Watch out for cheapy screens though, I have seen some tablets that were really cheap, but the screen had really bad viewing angle, unusable to see from the knees.
