A question to the BMS guys, …
We all know what will happen if the taxing is messed up
(for whatever reason) and AI starts to overtake other AC’s
on the taxiway, … the most annoying and forever taking “bee- dance”.
Can this bee- dance be accellerated in Code,
by simply adjusting some (timing ?) values?
(without huge coding effort)If the bee- dance for overtaking one AC would last just 10 seconds,
instead of uhmm … about 2-3 minutes, then this would help a lot to
organize the situation, IMHO.And before anyone may ask, … No, the bee- dance of an AC in FBMS
do not show you frequency, direction and distance to the target(s).:DCheers,

And this is why you have airport diagrams in your doc folder If you want to access them in flight, you can always print them, or rely on apps like BMS Electronic Flightbag that do the trick nicely too.
That’s not the point. I know where to go to get to the runway. The problem is, like I said, you don’t know how many are in line ahead of you until it’s too late, therefore you can’t know if you are or are not out of sequence for departures before getting to hold line.

When you “brief” your mission, before clicking “FLY” … are you taking a look to the frag (and/or ATO if several squad on the same AB) what should be the flight (call-sing) preceding you in the sequence, what is their T/O time comparing to yours, and once in pit, are you listening the radio to know when they are starting to taxi?

No, I haven’t tried that. That may work. But isn’t that ATCs job? To know the sequence of departures and stack them in order to T/O on-time and on-mission? Correct me if I’m mistaken.

This is what ATC in BMS does (giving you a clearance and a QGP) but ATC is not a baby siter … Pilots must also check that what ATC is saying is coherent, because, at the end, it is their but in the cockpit and since nobody is perfect, anybody can do mistakes. When you are in shelters, ATC can’t see you from the tower and can not help you that much.
And BTW, no, it is not ATC’s works to manage flight’s timings. This is pilot’s job. ATC’s job is flight safety and air traffic services.

You could add more static a/c on the tarmac, ground equipment, Ive never seen a tow bar used in Falcon. There are AC that magically spawn on the ramp from thin air. Yes it would cause a fps hit but wouldn’t that add to your fufillment of accuracy? How about civy ac operating in the pattern? Maybe an airbottle here and there. Even wing walkers in some instances! And nobody drops oil on the tarmac either. No spill here or there, or strips where someone locked up the brakes.
For reference I’ve tried skipping the taxi part all together and just going straight to takeoff and I’ve found myself behind a flight or two before. Dee-Jay has it right, its the job of the p.i.c. to be sure the ac is intact all the way through, from the walkaround inspection to shuting down the engine & writing your report on the ac at the end of the flight. Priority 1 is fly the jet. ATC could tell you to taxi from a to z but you have to stop when you see another ac in your path so you don’t have a ground colision. They won’t tell you that…
