Bigger ACMI size - bad for Performance (fps, RAM usage etc.)?
-
Hi guys,
a short question: when i raise the ACMI size, e.g. from 150 to 600 MB, does it hurt the system performance?
-
I haven’t noticed anything. It shouldn’t anyway, all that this means is how much will the recorder write in a single file before moving on and starting another one.
-
Large acmi recordings will incurred a delay when leaving the 3d world as the sim writes it to disk. .

In my computer, the file size is set to 500Mb and it takes more or less 10 minutes of delay, when leaving the 3d world

But is one 200Mb file any slower or faster than, say, 4x 50Mb files?

One of my squadron mates said he reduced it because he fears higher RAM usage. I’ve set it to 400 and have no problems with it, the delay after long flights is not the problem, lasts around 30 secs. after a two hour TE flight.
I guess it doesn’t hurt system performance so i suggest my collegue to raise it … thx anyway for your help!

I’m on 8gb RAM I have ACMI setting to 500 IIRC haven’t noticed or had any problems with memory, though my SSD helps alot when getting out of a long flight, cause it’s just fast, and I’m on SATA2 not SATA3.

My ACMI is set to 500mb and have not had problems with it. My OS is on an SSD and my BMS is on a separate SSD so maybe that helps with the post-mission write issue.
