So I finally got my LED head gear, camera, etc all hooked up. Freetrack showing a nice black screen with three round dots. I have to make some modifications and adjustments but its working.

My problem is that when I enter the game, its not seeing it. I move my head an nothing happens.

While waiting for my camera to show up in the mail, I had downloaded FaceTrackNoIR and was using it with just pure face tracking and it was working. It wasn’t smooth but it definitively was working.

Now I can’t get either piece of software to work within Falcon not matter if I use just face tracking or the led hat.

      What did I mess up?

Have you set it up in the settings in BMS?

Yes. just as shown in the screen grab above.

FacetrackNoIR was working with pure face tracking. Now nothing works.

Hm, this is just a wild guess (I can’t check my local setup right now), but if I remember correctly FTNoIR runs a fake “TrackIR.exe” process per default that some (usually really old) sims check for before the code enables head tracking. Maybe FreeTrack has a similar feature? MIght be worth a try.

              Uwe

EDIT: You could also try sticking with FTNoIR for now using its point tracker plugin.

It is now working using FaceTrackNoIR and the point tracker plug as suggested. In fact, I think I might like the facetrack better.
                Thanks!

Glad you got it working, Salt. I may be mistaken but I think the majority of non-TrackIR users here favours FTNoIR over Freetrack, so chances are you might get better “support” from the FTNoIR community 😉

                  All the best, Uwe

I do like the interface much better. Its giving me problems though as i can’t get my curves to save to the any.ini file. Tried making my own “MySettings.ini” but it won’t save any of my settings (curves). Then I tried saving my curves to the default.ini file and it will save my yaw curve but not the pitch up or pitch down.

EDIT: I figured it out. FaceTrackNoIR has to be run in administrator mode. Saves ini files fine now.
