How to duplicate a theater?
-
Hi, I’d like to know how could I duplicate the theater in order to have one as default so I won’t have any problems with the folders that other theaters may need and to have an extra one to be able to make any modifications (just appearance ones) in it. Is this possible and which are the steps to follow?
If it has already been posted, could anyone tell me where exactly to find it because I’ve been looking for it but I could find anything. Tx -
Two ways:
1.) Copy and paste your current Falcon BMS 4.32 folder. This is effectively a second, identical, install. Use one as the ‘clean’ version (i.e. no mods, etc.) and one as the ‘experimental’ install. In use, you will have to have one of the folders named “Falcon BMS 4.32” and that will be the ‘install’ that is running. The other folder needs to be named something else …. anything else, for instance “Falcon BMS 4.32 - Experimental”
Then you change those folder names back and forth as needed … the folder you want to use is always (re-)named “Falcon BMS 4.32” and the other folder is some other name.
2.) Rename the current BMS folder (as above), use the reg cleaning tool (https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?10640-Reinstalling-Issue-quot-The-registry-entry-quot ). Now do a fresh BMS install and install the theater(s) you want to ‘experiment’ with.
Change folder names back and forth as above, depending which install you want to use.
For an example, see here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23257-Error-in-Balkans-theater-setup&p=336208&viewfull=1#post336208

It would also be a good idea to include a text file to identify which is which. That way, if you screw up the renaming, you can go to the text file for clarification.
