Discussion of Changes and Features 4.32 to 4.33
-
I think it is wanted a place to discuss small and big changes with 4.33 compared to 4.32. Of course there are manuals and videos ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-eZYrhtkZKqDUf91TWylaQ ) along with of course using the simulation to learn directly but a discussion is good too. Not everyone reads and watches all material and may overlook changes. New features and changes may want to be discussed for how and when to make use of them.
Even my first flight I noticed many many small changes. To keep it short I’ll mention just one: It seems the 10x60, 30x20 ACM radar modes lock within their volume much faster than before.

G-force effect is different and sound from pilot breath

Can’t dig into this too much yet due to other RL commitments but I’m curious whether they’ve successfully implemented SPI and has it made radar/TGP/Maverick usage much easier?
-
Yes and yes
-
cbu ba=0 bug has been fixed

Strongly recommend the manual with regards to spi

Oh, I can assure you I will! Just wanted to confirm that it was in and so I can specifically look for it. Will need to order new toners for my color laser printer (I don’t do well with reading important stuff on a computer monitor) and print the manuals out; as I’ve said, some RL commitments over the weekend prevent me from diving into this as deeply as I’d like but at least I have something on my list that’s been “fixed” and I look forward to seeing how the new “fix” works.
Thanks again!

One very pleasant option is a global “look down cockpit angle limit” option in the master configuration file. No more do you have to change the value in every model’s cockpit for day and night. This is a big time saver for those with 16:3 displays or simply want to look farther down.

Off the top of my head here are a few subtle changes…. There are many more
OA1 OA2 symbols superimposed by X if they are out of HUD FOV.
VRP/VIP are now slewable.
ICP coordinates entry now requires N /E entry.
VIP VRP OA1 OA2 range can be displayed in KM/FT/NM
HUD declutter now matches the real jet.
In AG mode TLL is not displayed if pointing straight down (±10 degrees); instead, the TD box is displayed with an X-symbol superimposed on it at the lower edge of the HUD
TLL now displays the correct offset to target.
Slant ranges on HUD have now the correct prefix and format for all master modes
EEGS MRG lines are now correctly displayed and extend with G increase
Level 5 funnel now shows target plane of motion for bugged targtes
EEGS: The maneuver potential lines now provide the correct aiming reference for evasive targets
The ACM bore cross is now correctly displayed when its within the HUD FOV ( HMCS )
The Laser needs about 30 seconds to warm up
Laser ranging is inhibited by clouds
Aim9 DLZ is now displayed on MFD
TGT overtake on HUD is now displayed in 10ths
NAV mode shows overtake for bugged targets.
TD box in DGFT mode now blanks out HUD symbology.
FLCS page fix. ( FLCS fault messages are now displayed, DBU )
LG config light AOA and VVI indicator behavior now match the real operation during a FLCS BIT
Flashing HUD “WARN” now is displayed whenever a warning light is illuminated.
Canopy now opens and closes even with battery in off position
Cockpit utility light.

Yes for SPI and TGP
AGM-65 employment is a bit harder. 4.32 AGM65 operation and employment was unrealistic. -
Bugged radar contact speed is in full 10 knots.
RWR is no longer dead on precise.
-
Could the old TE from 4.32 still be working in 4.33?
-
No.
Read the BMS Manual p17.
Use Mission Commander to convert your 4.32 TEs.
-
mission commander can convert te’s.

The TFR/FLIR implementation is phenomenal. I have grown to hate TF fly ups already (in a good way). I think I need to bind keyboard “A” to the TF advanced button.
I did read that IVC doesn’t require port forwarding anymore but today I failed to host until I re-added port forwarding (UDP 9897-9899).
I’m constantly surprised by the block-specific avionics changes. The INS was flashing ready at only 4 minutes in this newer model. The self-test MFD patterns for different ages (color cube vs. green monochrome).
The GPS LIST page I think is new.
I noticed the CRUS TOT mode wasn’t highlighted by default, at least on one model.
Different AIM-9 models have different DLZ and much more accurate predictions than before. The smoothness that the seeker “settles” on the target is pleasing. I dare to test later if it targets the hot engine end or just model center. I wish TD was able to be caged on good tone (if that’s real behavior).
I think with improved waypoint timing behavior for AI the takeoff times are much loser (more free). I get takeoff clearance 2+ minutes early. Although it was funny ATC said “position and hold” and then yelled at me for lining up and wait. I notice my AI wingman did a single ship departure (no form line up, 3-4nm trail) when we were heavy AG loadout in semi-bad weather.
The 10-point approach pattern is wonderful. After a quick read I feel more understanding with ATC’s plan and it flows more smoothly.
I notice master caution can’t be cleared before start. I used to use it as a crutch when my idle detent worked.
I can’t wait to play with Maverick and TGP with ABC handoff.
I notice the E/N prefix ICP code (2,4,6,8) requirement but south latitudes and west longitude aren’t enterable (at least in Korea?).
I saw that the RWR was giving directional indications for some bad but unidirectional indications for longer wavelength. Cool. RWR seems much less magical.
The autopilot and WP auto sequencing is much smoother than before without the left-right-left waggle flying through the point.
The B/D model fuel gauge has the proper balancing red paint markings for the balance unique to the 2-seaters.

Im loving the EEGS funnel now… having the lines in the targets POM helps a lot!

That’s how it is in the real jet. See Dash-1 p65.

Challenging but rewarding

Why would you want to for Korea? In any case it’s a code limitation currently.

Much more realistic, which means you really need to keep up your visual lookout and task prioritisation if you don’t want to be surprised by a MiG popping up on your six, which they will do as they are much much better at intercepts now

Any one noticed anything in campaings? Looks like god eye Intel is gone ??

campaign saves .ini files.
