INSTALLATION PROB!
-
Hey all, Before stating my problem, I’d like to tell that I’m new to the Simulation world and please don’t regard the actions at stupid!
I Downloaded the falcon 4.33 torrent and installed it. I selected a Folder in the “F” drive, but when the installation was complete, It was installed in “C” drive!
How can it be even possible? I deleted the folder and tried to reinstall the setup. But now it gives the following error.
“the registry points to a folder that doesn’t contains the file falcon4bmx.exe. Restore the file or remove the registry from HKLM”
I cant restore the files as i deleted them! But I tried deleting the registry file and this is the last setback that I cant find any Falcon BMX folder in HKLM?
Has this prob occured with anyone else? Guidance please! -
I found that the setup folder had to be on the same drive as you wanted the install. IOW, if you want 4.33 on C:\……, then the setup folder needs to be on C:… . I couldn’t ‘force’ a different drive path either. I don’t think that was the case in 4.32. It may have been something I did. Not sure, but moving the setup folder worked. After install, I deleted that folder on that drive (but kept a copy on another drive).
For 4.32 there was a registry cleaner. I’m 99.9% sure it won’t work on 4.33. I hope that someone makes a new one.

Interesting as I’m also using Win7 x64 and had no problem using a HDD for the Setup folder and installing on a SSD. Something going on here which isn’t consistent; how very Windows

Hopefully we shouldn’t need one as Falcon BMS 4.33 does not appear in the list of the Programs and Features app (like 4.32 did), so we should not get people uninstalling it that way and leaving registry entries behind. It’s made very clear in the BMS Manual that you use Setup.exe both to install and uninstall BMS 4.33 so let’s hope that’s a historic problem.
