Mission Commander beta release
-
Hi,
That is something that I can’t help you with.
The ships will follow there STPT while in 2D world or if you are outside of the bubble.
Inside of the bubble they stop at the next STPT. There is no code for this in Falcon and still needs to be done.Gr Falcas
ps drop a note at the BMS coder to motivate them

@721-Kara:
Hi Falcas,
First of all, thanks for this amazing tool.
Mostly, I change territories of the red and blue side for different scenarios.
I edited some missions with MC but after that all of territory changes (installations: CCC, political, logistics etc.) returned to default owners on the TE MAP. Is that normal? Thanks.
Fixed, update comming soon.
Thanks again for the report Kara.Gr Falcas

Just started using mission commander, it is a very nice upgrade from TACEDIT.
-
Is there a manual or tutorial for the Mission Commander? Is there a way to make it fit on just one screen and still see all of the info

With a resolution of 1280x800 I don’t think you should have any problem fitting the software on a screen.
No, there is no manual or tutorial. Just start playing around and you will see that you don’t need much explenation at all.
The buttons and selections do what the say.Gr Falcas

Need store edit
-
You mean the stores of a Squadron? is comming
-
Hi,
Also for MC it is time for an update.
Beside some fixes there is one new feature that I would like to point out. It is the same screen as you can find in WDP.But you have some other options than WDP.
You can reach this screen in different ways.- Clicking on an objective in the objective list
- Going to a flight that has a ground objective as target. Double click on the flightplan where the strike STPT is and you get to the screen.
If you set a building as a target and save the mission, this building is the assigned target in BMS.
This means that you now can set other buildings/object, that you can not find in the list in BMS, and have them as priority one target. Which means that the AI will first destroy this building/object.
So the wingman can engage a selected hangar as you engage the runway :mrgreen:One other thing you can do here is set the status of an building/object.
The options is “No Damage”, “Damaged”, “Repaired” or “Destroyed”.
If you are a mission creator, this is very nice as you can already set some objects as destroyed before you actualy start to fly.So, enough coding for this week, time for a BBQ and a beer.
Enjoy,
Falcas

Keep on this way, and best regards,

Just an idea, to see if this is something mission commander could do in the future…
When building your own TE, creating the opfor AI flights is always a mess, because if you create and fly the mission, you pretty much know what to expect, when, and where…
Wild it be possible for the MC to be able to create Random ennemy flight on certaine areas of the map ? Maybe just CAPs would be great…
For example you select an enemy area, and say you would like an enemy cap there, sometime in between 8am and 12am
And then MC would pick a plane, an airbase and create a CAP from there, picking a random take off time like 9.30am
This would give the opportunity for TE mission builders to fly mission with a bit of unexpected events.
I have no idea if this is something is you can do, but I was just throwing the idea out.
Thank you for this awesome software

What i like the most about mission commander is that when you put the correct squadron patch in and the correct squadron name (number) … in the 3d world you have the corresponding skin set.
this is very cool, since you can do a package of 8 F-16 Block 50 from 2 different squadron, and each flight of 4 aircraft will have its respective tail skin.
Before no matter if it is a aircraft from the same squadron or not, all block 40 will have the same tail skin, and if you change the skin of your aircraft it changes the skins of the other ones.
nice one
spooky.
Falcas,
Could you create a button that will allow the above by default?
What I mean is that MC will select different squadron/ac version/tail skin sets within the same flight so the “same tailnumber” issue is solved?I am not familiar with the status BMS is possibly working on to solve this.
And I for sure don’t know what the best solution is to solve this issue. -
The skin is another thing and falcas can’t solve it this way. there must be the 3d model declared to use the 4 different skins and of course the 4 different skins must exist. There is a project on this. We wait a guide on how to do it and we are on it.
Now my request how about on a squadron to add a flight created later on in an existing package?
Meaning I create a squad and a package of 2 flights a strike and a sead. Later on I remember to add an escort… but can’t add it in the same package…
I have seen the combo boxes that refer to this kind of use r u planning to make it work later on?

Hi Spooky,
This can not be done, as the skin that is used by a flight is not saved in the mission file.
It will need code change in BMS and get the skin saved in the file.Gr Falcas

I know you have been out of Falcon for a while so you probably don’t know this.
There is no problem with the same tailnumber in BMS You can make your own tailnumber for 4 different aircraft.
Example: you will see an MLU with tailnr J-008, J-009, J-010 and J-011.
But for this there need to be a “License plate” made for every skin. This has only be done for a few AC, like the Mirage2000.
Have a look here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/content.php?152-Licenses-Plates-PleaseGr Falcas
Edit: I have just seen that you had a post going about the License plates.
So if you know this, I don’tunderstand your question? What is the issue you are talikng about?
If AC have the same tail number in a flight, the Licences plates have not been created yet. -

Hi Arty,
The thing you discribe is 2 fold.
First of all, what you want to do can already be done in BMS itself.
For your example, In BMS go to TE, select your mission and click on “Edit”
In the editor, go to the “ATO” and find your package.
Select the package so that the package is highlighted.
Right click on the mouse and select “Show Flights”
Now you can add your escort. All the combo boxes work, but you have to select something first.
MC is better in merging 2 excisting flights into 1 package. This can not be done in BMS.
Example: Package 3701 (Strike flight), Package 3702 (Tanker)
You want to merge these two flight into one package so that you can see them on the datalink.
Move the tanker to package of the strike.- Open MC and load the mission.
- Select the flight of the tanker.
- At the group “Change” open the combobox and find the packagenr where you want to move the flight to.
in this example Packagenr 3701 - The button “Move to package” will become enabled. Click it and your flights are merged in packagenr 3701.
