HELP!! Way Over my Head !!
-
Ok so I am a 59 year old truck driver and not stupid but very dumb when it comes to some of the setups. I fly MS Flight sims, FSX and stuff and I have had a copy (CD) of Falcon 4.0 for years. I found this site surfing around the net looking for updates and things. Now I find some pretty major stuff. Here’s my problem….
First I have an old dell XPS 400 Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz 2.7GHz 3.00Ram 32bitOs x64based processor. NVIDIA Gforce G610. I made a massive leap from XP to Win 8 and now I have Windows 10. I know, I am trying to make Chicken soup out of Chicken you know what but it works.
I am thinking that BMS 4.33 may be too much for my system as I am having crashes and lots of lag.
What I need to do is start over and maybe even go back to basic F4 with the 1.08us updates until I get a better computer.
So my question is what’s the best procedure for a clean uninstall so I can start from fresh. I read somewhere not to use the windows uninstall or something.
I am such a newbie but I have been married for 30 plus years and feel I can take instruction very well
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

System is weak in the CPU and RAM; GPU too, but that little bit of RAM will kill you for sure. Just adding RAM might help. Not an expert here, so take that with a grain of salt.

It may be time for a new build. If that is not in the budget i would suggest a clean install of Windows 10, unless you have done that already.(I have read that the upgrade process can leave problems in its wake)

As Far as the clean uninstall goes. You just open the setup again and choose the remove product. If you just delete the program folder or whatever and then later try to reinstall it, you will need open your window regedit and search for “4.33” in the registry editor program.

Yes I think you are all right. Now I just need to to take out a lot of trash and do some laundry so I can explain what that box is the UPS guy just dropped at the door to my wife. LOL
I did go back and do some more reading and BMS 4.33 is not really suited for a 32 bit OS anyway. I have a laptop I put it on and I am going to give that a try.Thank you all for your help.

Well Violator now I know what I want for Christmas. Thanks.
By the way BMS 4.33 works fairly well on my laptop but it might be Windows 10 causing some hick ups. I put the OE version of F4 back on the Dell. I think I might should practice old school first with the 4000 page book and get a better feel for F-16’s that way. A lot easier on my old fart brain.

I think it is recommended (devs?) to not do that, as you will learn everything one way, and then later going back to back to bms you will have to relearn everything since it is very different.
