I have read that all flyable aircraft in Falcon pretty much share the same flight model and avionics as the F-16. Not sure how accurate that is, but I was wondering if it would be possible to one day take the BMS efforts and fork the code to create a new study sim for say an F-15? This way anything hard coded for the F-16 (flight characteristics, avionics, etc.) could be tweaked to fit the F-15.

Of course, the logical next step would be…and make it so people running the F-16 version can join multiplayer with people running the F-15 version.

I wouldn’t even ask if this has been thought about, but I am so amazed by what the BMS team have accomplished that I think you guys can literally do anything.

Flight model is defiantly not the same. each aircraft has it’s own flight model.
however, only a handful of aircraft have a true AFM. (the others use the classic falcon “OFM”).

        As for avionics,
The sim focuses on F-16 and the avionics is developed to that standard.
however, that doesn’t mean for example that the radar is the same. it just means that the DISPLAY is the same. other charitaristics, such as detection range, resistance to ground clutter and so on are different.

we need to stop this big urban legend.

Aircraft are all flying their own flight model, with dedicated mechanical data, aerodynamics data and engine data.

The only point where they “look like” the F16 is the FLCS , but this one can be tweaked to match specific Aircraft handling though.

          this is for OFM.

AMF is a complete other beast , such is NFBW FM…(only A10 for the moment as a demonstrator of the concept).

but please stop this bloody rumour, Aircrafts in BMS have different fligth models exactly like any other sim, FSX or DCS…

the only factor that determines the quality of it is the amount of work a developper would put in…

that is the first time i read this and i am very happy that someone finally understood.

            big thank you for that

our only limit is TIME , not original code, not terrain engine , not Gfx engine,

            NOTHING BUT TIME

Sorry about that, didn’t know I was spreading bad information. So it is possible to have a study sim level F-15 (for example) available within the F-16 ecosystem? The limiting factors are pretty much time, and available information? If so, that means the sky is pretty much the limit with this thing.

And I meant what I said. You guys are really talented. You make me rethink and question what is possible. I’m impressed!

The issue with avionics for other Aircraft isn’t related only to pure technical limitations, but also to available information and documentation. TBH I doubt if there is any other bird worth chasing due to that reason.
