Is it visible when the MAL&IND test button is not held?

Normally it takes a short while to turn on after the MMC is turned on. Seems odd to be in the air and have it still not working…

TO-BMS1F-16CM-1 Manual p58: Internal LIGHTING panel

The third knob implemented controls DED brightness. It has three positions: OFF, DIM, BRIGHT.

(I’m assuming the AVIONICS POWER panel switches are all on)

Thanks Darkman that answered my question.

It is weird when entering pit in DF or training modules that this switch is off by standard. Or is that an option in config ?

              WDP is your friend 😉

If you haven’t already downloaded it get it from Falcas’ site: http://www.weapondeliveryplanner.nl/

If you have got it, then go to DTC > SYSTEMS to set up (or update) your DTC to include the new features in 4.33.

                https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23584-433-DED-Switch

I had a similar issue (Strangely the switch was on bright when I launched to ramp and off when I launched to a hot jet).
I fiddled around with my callsign ini and WDP and the issue is gone now (Switch is already at bright no matter how I launch).
This was really puzzeling because the callsign. Ini does not support different options for the different launching to a hot/cold jet.

And… does the DED brightness switch exist in the F18 and F15 cockpits?

Looking at the 3dbuttons.dat file in ckptart/1406, nope. I’m sure if you bound the callback to a key and pressed it it would dim though.

Well I too am experiencing the no DED illuminated in the F15, F16, F18 and in the F16 I can rectify this with the DED bright knob next to the cabin and instrument light knobs but in the F15 and F18 obviously there is no DED light knob, AFAIK…

So I go to download the latest WDP from the website and it corrupt and can’t be unpacked… so Link is able to download it, upload it to our File Browser in TS3 and then it can be downloaded and unpacked.

                        See how we go!

Folks…if the cockpits are actually modeled correctly, there is not a DED in the F/A-18 and/or F-15 cockpit…so I have no idea what DED brightness would control in these cockpits…or what people are trying to find…

Check TEST on LMFD, if you burned DED an MMC , climate control not on NORM, RAM, DUMP , Equipment Hot , then,
                              well, DED is DEAD 🙂
It happened to me once, forgot to turn on ventilation , and it overheated and died together with MMC computer…. serious problem, no INS navigation after that.

                              Maybe?

                              Cheers
