BMS Manuals Online & Breifing viewer
-
Hello all, First off not sure where this should be posted, so if it needs moving , move it please.
Ok , so I wanted to create a website that contained all of the falcon bms manuals, and what not so tat they can be accessed everywhere, and with using bootstrap make it mobile friendly. I hope there is no rule breaking in making this available online, if so , go ahead crush my dreams(lol jk). This came fromt he fact that sometimes on my lunch I would love t be able to read manuals with out having to copy the pdfs to my phone.
I also (once i figure out hwo to do this) and atm it will only load file if on the pC (not mobile) to load your breifing.html and be able to load view it in a browser. Yes i know if i just open it already you can view it in a browser. End game for me would be allowing users to upload their breifing and then they could access it on any device.
another plus side to this is if I can keep everything just html based is that once its don I can make this into a mulitplatform application using cordova. This means that apple , android, and windows device can all access this, and with user login function will be able to view uploaded breifings…
If anyone would care to assist me or have any more/better ideas please fell free.
I am not the best coder in the world, currently i can not find a way using html/js to load the html file and display it in a iframe, only other option i can see is the webserver to DL the .html and then I could display it. which could get out of hand quickly and cause issues if by some reason 2 files had the same name.
you can see what i have so far @ bms.mrbproduktions.com
just started it today , thought id get feedback fromt he community before I got to far

Hello bacon8tor,
I’ll move this into the documentation room.
First I’d like to state that if anything is planned with the BMS content * that’s manual included, but especially manuals - we would appreciate to know about if beforehand.
The manuals represent countless hours of work and we are not done with them. They are WIP and will probably be updated with the forthcoming updates. Most of the manuals are already available online as PDF (see the manual link sticky topic) So they are always accessible from the web already
Most of the mobiles can read PDF nowadays and since the manuals are WIP we don’t want these specific interface to be done right now as they will need to be updated shortly and forgive me to say we can’t control anyone presence and motivation to update that interface in the future alongs our official manual updates. So such ventures at this point present a high chance for us to have different versions of the manuals online in different state of completeness.
Something I’m sure you’ll appreciate we prefer to avoid. Also your page is titled: Bacon’s falcon 4.33 Manuals.
I’m sorry but did you write these? cause the titles seems to imply tou did? -
Whats wrong with the existing online source for the manuals and checklists at http://www.combatsimchecklist.net/F4download.htm ?

The website was made in like 2000, its pretty boring and unappealing, I appreciate what all the devs did to make the game new. Maybe we should start looking at all the other features. Just cause its not broke doesnt mean you cant fix it. it would be nice to be able to view the PDF online instead of having to Download it.
