Seems like there are a lot of errors found in the new manuals. I was hoping to get these printed out for easier reference (translation: bring to toilet) but I don’t want to end up printing 5-6 copies of each manual.

Is it worth printing out the manuals now? Is there someone in charge of correcting the manuals? Is there at least a list of errata?

      Thanks!

        hold on mate
There are not a lot of errors in the manuals.
There are quite a few topics saying error in the manuals (which I now corrected to feedback) but if the topics are read you’ll realise that quite a few of the reports are not errors but different views or are semantic/typo errors that slipped through
Many of the issues reported are nitpicking and only a couple are really needing a correction. Considering the manual suite is over 1000 pages, I wouldn’t call that a lot !!

Is there someone in charge of correcting the manuals?

I’d say that the guys who spend hours on the manual will do their work and will update manuals according to reports made, yes.

Is there at least a list of errata?

no need, we are on top of our game 🙂

I’d say that the manuals now are pretty accurate and will be corrected for update 1 when the times comes (3-4 weeks)
So yes the manuals will change but since it seems to be a sport to trace and find the slightest possible mistake in the manuals, you can be sure that ppl will still report errors after our corrections
and my guess is that they will be furtehr updated with subsequent future update - there’s nothing we can do about that.

Is it Worth printing them know?
That’s a decision you need to take on your own reading the current forum.

Gents, keep the report coming. The above is not about not wishing correction feedback. Just setting things straight about the LOT of errors found so far 🙂

May I add a question here please?

When amendments are made to the manual texts, will they be communicated to Lulu?
For me, Lulu’s prices are less expensive than my local printers. (For a superior product too).
I bought the previous Flight Manual from Lulu two years ago and have already ordered the Korean AIP from them.
Like many Forum members, no doubt, I just enjoy reading the manuals.

          Many thanks to their authors!

          Thanks.

Yes, Red Dog will update the Lulu files when we release updated documents, to reflect what has changed in the sim and fix any errors that slipped through the net last time around.

Or use an iPad or other tablet so you always have the latest version to read in the toilet/bed, or on your lap/leg/desk when you fly.

Hehe… sorry about that. Yeah, I noticed most of the threads now say “feedback.”

I was wondering if I may make a request to whoever updates the manuals. Would it be possible to highlight which changes have been made and on which pages? Again, the reason for this is because I want to print out the manuals and if I know which pages have been changed, then I can just print out those pages and insert them in the appropriate place in my printout, that way I’ll always have an up-to-date printed manual and without wasting entire forests of paper.

I’ve given myself a treat with the release of BMS 4.33 and bought a new color laser printer that prints on both sides automatically (the old one was manual… ugh!!) so I’m looking forward to rebuilding my library.

              Thanks!
