Queation about trim

Hi All,
Having a problem trimming the plane after weapon lauch where the trim maximizes onto left or right flight surface. This results in an unflyable aircraft. I use Ctrl left arrow and Ctrl Right Arrow to order the trim but am Stuck as to why my plane turns into a brick?
thanks for any help

I don’t really understand the question. If the question is “when I drop somethings, I need to trim on the other way”, then it’s normal. Pure physics here ;).
-
Sorry, it’s not the trimming itself ( As you say pure physics, I actually have a degree in that) but using the trimming keys results in full deflection of the flight surfaces and then usually a total depature from controlled flight.

It’s the funny business of ctrl+key not being released. Make sure also you are using the callbacks for the trim on the joystick and not the trim on the left console.

This happend to me in BMS 4.33 once. Flying a DEAD mission i was trimming after firing a AGM-88. Somehow i was unable stop the plane from rolling so i kept trying to find the right trim setting. Suddenly the roll trim kept moving to left wing down even without trim input. Right wing down input caused the trims running to max right wing down. I could barely keep control of the acft, luckely i had enough altitude. After toggeling AP/Reset and FLCS reset several times trims were functioning normal again and i could finish the mission. Only happend to me once. I remember i was using the mouse to roll the roll-thumbwheel in 3D cockpit, maybe that had something to do with it. Of course normaly i use the stick trim switch, i went to the panel because i could not stop the plane rolling and check the roll-gage. Never happend again. Are normal system faults/fails, not induced by external factors, programmed in BMS?

What kind of stick and throttle do you have? It is much better to program the trim using DX than key commands. It works much more smoothly and is much more controllable. Unbalanced aircraft due to weapons release is normal. Always try to release weapons two at a time if you can. It takes practice, but can be done

A known issue. I had it in 4.32 as well. Happens sometime when using the keyboard or 3d cockpit switches as well.
As others have said, only way around the ‘sticking’ is to map the trim controls to your HOTAS. -
This happens because of a wrong key / modifier press & release order.
Please take a look at the Key File Manual and look for the section “Stuck keys”.
I can’t offer a page # atm as I am not @home. -

Fhb, I can tell you several things (TMS, DMS, etc.) work better on keycommands if you change them to single key commands. I personally solved the trim issue using directional axis. I’ve never figured out how to make my x-65" Trim hat" an axis, but did so on the x-55 throttle rotaries I use as a secondary switch panel. So, depending on what stick you use, that may be an option for you.

I was using the Saitek X45 then (i am a proud owner of a Thrustmaster Warthog since a week :woohoo: , still fine tuning the settings though). I used only DX commands, no aditional programming software installed. But anyway, the problem occured when i was looking down at the trim panel and was mouse-clicking the roll tumbwheel.
I fired the first missile and still closing in on the target area while waiting for another RDR to light up on the HAD……
