X52 PRO Profile by Scuby
-
Hello redshirt78,
This x52 profile is based solely on key emulation, i.e. pressing a button results in pressing a keyboard key. Non of the x52 buttons are assigned as a DX callback.
Now, if a user wants to make changes to the x52 profile, this can be done with STT profiler by using new keyboard keys.
However, if a user wants to assign a DX callback to one of the x52 buttons, then the user must first go in the STT profiler and delete that key. Now the BMS keyfile will recognize a button press as a DX press (instead of recognizing a key).
For what it is worth, I wouldn’t recommend mixing key emulation with DX assignment. Rather choose - based on your preference - either a key based or DX based profile on this forum. Both have pro’s and con’s.
Have fun!
ScubSince your profile isn’t DX, having the Mode switch do different things is not possible? I’m assuming that’s a DX thing. Plus, if I change a command, does BMS automatically recognize the change? Or do I need to do some file swapping that’s best left for professionals (people who know what they are doing). Thanks in advance.
EDIT: to clarify, I don’t want to mix DX stuff into your profile since yours is not DX.

With STT, you can setup the mode switch as mode selector or 3way switch. In this profile it is a mode selector. To have it work as switch, you enter keys in the top row in STT.

The keys you use in STT need to exist in the BMS keyfile. So have a look at the BMS keyfile and find the functions you wish to operate. Also research which keys or combos are free for use. Enter free keys for those functions in the BMS keyfile, enter the same keys in STT profile.

Hi all, is Scuby’s profile and keyfile still okay to use with 4.33u1?

First of all - A big thanks to Scuby for a great X52 Pro profile.
Now to a newb question. I am just returning to Falcon, via BMS 4.33 U3, having last flown in AF. Where do I enable the NWS!
Please help me as I am crashing more jets than anyone in history!!! -

Scuby: Thanks for the great profile. You’ve saved me (and lots of others) a lot of work! I am only having problems with one feature. TMS is not working. I have also not figured out how to move the radar cursor. Feeling foolish but if you need help…ASK! I am asking! HELP!
Again, Thanks much for the profile!

Fluke:
I should have asked you previously but is there anyone (you?) who could explain how to update the Scuby profile? There are a only a few updates needed but I am not technically savvy enough to figure out how to make the changes, or if they’re even possible now.
For example:
Zoom/Cursor zero function is no longer functioning
External light mapping no longer functions
Missle Override/Dogfight slider now adjusts POV (did resolve my display stutter issue)If I could get some help fixing those, even if the help is a step by step that I have probably missed in the manual, I could figure out how to make things work as they did previously.
Scuby’s setup worked flawlessly before the update.
Thanks for any help (in addition to your previous assistance) that you or someone else can provide!
