Campaign Weapons in 4.33
-
Hello to all,
Why are so many of the weapons limited in the Korea campaign (JSOW, JASSM, etc.)? Is there any way to add the full array of weapons we have available in TE? In 4.32, we had the option of selecting JSOW’s which helped a lot in the early part of the campaign.
BTW, 4.33 is the best thing I have ever seen in flight simulation by far!
Thank you!

My guess would be that they are very expensive and that is why they are limited. JSOW and JASSM are multi-hundred thousand dollar weapons.

I’ve started a “Rolling Fire” campaign and at least have JSOWs available when selecting USAF squadrons flying the Block 40. I guess JSSAMs, which are marked “out” are going to be restocked in the course of the war (and if you’re doing well?).
The korean Block 52 squadrons don’t seem to use this kind of munitions, which is a nod to reality, I guess. -
Ok I see the block 40 has the JSOW. I thought the block 52 could carry these weapons too.
Thank you

It’s possible to edit the campaign files to change which weapons are available (to each squadron)? If you want some more I think the Mission Commander (same place as WeaponsDeliveryPlanner) is a friendly utility to possibly edit the equipment available in a save file for a certain squadron.

I tried editing with mission commander, didn’t seem to work… I was doing it so I could use the harm sensor thing. I would like to play the North Korea invasion campaign but have the availability of some of the things in the third campaign. Is tacedit it what I should try? Or did one of you all make it work with MC?

I like this limited stock of weapons. It makes BMS even more real and adds more considerations for mission planning.

block 32 no longer carry Harms either and never had jsows. I see now that fuel tanks are often default loaded fortunately. The 120 B and C appear to have been downgraded as red fighters appear to be able to turn and outrun them at closer range and I have often seen already friendly ai controlled aircraft not engage enemy aircraft very close by and get into tight turning fur balls though they have missiles available but do not launch with red fighters. Red SU 27’s carrying aa12 will often wait until close range to launch them making that encounter often fatal. So there are changes I can feel in KTO campaign and am adjusting to including new cockpit sounds and sam’s turning on and engaging me only when I am danger close. Fun!

My guess make campaign more balanced. With too many way to advanced weapons campaigns would be “insta click and win” stuff.
The weapons for sq. are defined in database not in campaign files as I know. You have to chance weapons availabiliy with Falcon editor of F4Browse.
