Is that drifting correct?

Hi,
while taxiing <can i=“” say=“” so?=“”>the a/c always drifts to to left.
And while flying e.g. AP ‘hold alt’ the a/c is always drifting to right.

I give you anything you need…
taxiing:
I’m not using rudder pedals. So, from ramp start defaults…
Wind is 180 1,4knts, Kimpo, RW 14RBTW: While take off I always drift to right, equal how I aligned the a/c, which wind direction
And in the air?
I’m assuming that TGP is the cause, but I do not know… -
ok, so you guide the aircraft on the ground with the stick, using the roll linked nws?
correct?when you go into the ui, setup page, is your stick X & Y axis well centred?

I’m using a TM Warthog and from this (for NWS) I’m using this slider on the throttle unit on the right side. And yes, this is centered, and also this slider has a “Zero-Point-Position” in the middle.
This slider is mapped in the tmc-file as followed:
MapAxis(&Throttle, THR_FC, DX_SLIDER_AXIS, AXIS_NORMAL, MAP_ABSOLUTE);
SetSCurve(&Throttle, THR_FC, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); -
Engine can produce a torque drift. Please provide a video when we can check the amount of drift.

1. that’s barely noticeable on a single engine jet
2. it would be very much more noticeable with a two engine jet with assymetrical settings and/or with a prop
3. if that was the case here, we would all suffer of the issueEven Wind can’t push your AC that way in BMS, unless your taxi speed is very high
My bet: axis centring or trimming issue, simply and that would propably explain the issues he’s having in flight as well.
As stick inputs remain active in AP.
Not trim though as trim should be overriden while in AP. but a uncentred roll axis would be noticeable -
I already see it too Olivier, it’s veeeery light, and request just a small correction during long taxi. That’s why I think it could be the engine torque, and why I ask for a video.

Can’t say i noticed any drift in taxi, but with NWS engaged during take off i always drifted right too

Wind is 180 1,4knts, Kimpo, RW 14R
=> about 8 to 9kts Xwind
While take off I always drift to right, equal how I aligned the a/c, which wind direction
9kts Xwind is way enough to require a rudder action.
And while flying e.g. AP ‘hold alt’ the a/c is always drifting to right.
Define “drift” …
When you are saying “drift”, for me it means : http://www.aviation-history.com/theory/drift-1.jpg
And in the air?
I’m assuming that TGP is the cause, but I do not know…Are you talking in yaw … or roll ?
If it is roll … yes it can be the TGP (or any other compensation issue)
-
I seem to have the same problem.
Yaw trim is fine once off the ground.
During takeoff the plane is drifting to the leftHas there been a fix or solution to this issue:(
Spent time checking Saitek Rudder, seems fine. Not sure what it is Seems scary on takeoff:-(

What says the wind info from the Tower?

Thank you Reaper58th
320 at 4 knots
on a runway heading of 360
Always drifts to leftYogi 20th VFW

Set the wind for this TE to 0 kts, then retry.
Second try would be setting a greater deadzone in your joystick and rudder axis and do another test, also with zero wind.
-
I had similar problem with Logitech Extreme 3D joystick. You just need to increase the dead-zone to the rudder axis. I noticed there was a slight rudder input (even after I centered controls on the ground). Fix it totally for me!
-
Thanks Guys will give it a check now:)
Checked wind direction and speed, set 360 deg, at 0 knots
increased dead zoneThings are Great once again
Still get the drift after reset wind to original direction and speed,
But it is part of the SIM, not fault with the equipment 8-)Thanks Again
