Running dedicated server w/o 3d graphics card
-
Nice. Too bad i don’t have a 3d card in the server. Bandwidth is good, which is good for seeding 4.33. Just not so good for running a dedicated server.
Well at least you have a server. Annoyingly, the disk just died and I’m waiting for support to sort it out!

Bummer.

So just to be clear, in order to host a TE or a campaign (I’d be fine with a TE for now), you need to enter the 3d world on the server or would it suffice to have the server sit in 2d flying the tanker all the time and creating / choosing a different flight within the TE for humans?
I could readily try this in a Virtualbox running win7 and rfactor2 (dedicated Server) that I have available, but I’d much prefer a wine / rdesktop based solution if possible.
Cheers, Uwe

You have to be in 3D world with the server.

Yep, the server needs to sit in 3d too. Just create a flight longer than your actual mission somewhere out of the way.

Once I get a new HDD in the server (still waiting on support…), I’ll tidy up the image and Dockerfile. Using it, you’ll be able to run BMS in a container and vnc in to it.
Still need to do some testing though as I haven’t tried MP 4.33 64bit with it yet.

hi guys,
if you use pro software as W2012 R2 and all suite
you must use a special processor and special memory because the number of iops are very top high on exchange of processor and memory and hdd
processor : family of MP (multi processor) with special L2 L3 cache with optimize BUS
memory : family of memory ECC
HDD : family pro HDD and SSD required because IOPS HIGH TOP LEVEL with virtualization
just sample of information for start your project

This will be great! I was successfully able to lunch Falcon on a dedicated server using virtualization but one of the draw backs is I did not have a dedicated IP for it so basically I was doing NAT with port FW which cause the clients to be in CS mode as Falcon clients try to connect to the internal IP to do the p2p.
One question that I have with Docker, the container use the same IP as the host or you have another public IP?

Hey, check this 3D graphics article. It may be useful for you.
