First 4.33 flight
-
I ‘took’ my first 4.33 flight this morning - started it in training mission #2, airborne.
The graphics were sweet, especially when I went low-level. I had selected fall for the season, and there were patches of trees whose leaves were downright colorful.
I still have to RTFM. My MFDs were monochrome, and there was no caret in the HUD for desired airspeed to make it to the next steerpoint on time. Oh well. I also couldn’t adjust my radar range on my TQS the way I thought I’d programmed it.
I may be taking ‘baby steps’ as far as getting up to speed is concerned, but eventually I’ll learn enough to have real fun by myself let alone online.

Who doesnt

Normal, in the training mission, you are on a F-16A Block 15, and they have monochrome MFDs.

Docs/Falcon BMS Manuals/TO-BMS1F-16CM-1.pdf, section 1.3.8.

Depends on how you mapped it. If you mapped the Range Knob, on a DX axis, then its perfectly normal. Despite its name, it never changes radar range (or any kind of range). Check the dash-1, section TQS, to see what ar ethese function depending on which mode you are in.
To change radar range with HOTAS controls, just drive your cursor to the edge of the display.
The keyboards controls for the Range Knob are actually bugged and do change radar range in AA mode. But that’s a bug.

Thank you l3crusader for your reply.
What I need to figure out (outside of the docs) is to adjust the radar range via the lower rotary switch on my Saitek X-65F TQS. For that, I need to use Saitek’s SST application.
(A few minutes later)
I solved the problem. I may have to send a message to Kolbe about what function a callback actually does.
