Does not work.
Still cannot reinstall
Great opening posts. Very informative.
Take a few steps back to here…… https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?10640-Reinstalling-Issue-quot-The-registry-entry-quot&p=380550&viewfull=1#post380550

it is, could not find
-
So if you ever have this issue follow those steps:
Regedit : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node/ Benchmark Sims/Falcon BMS 4.33 U1
delete the the whole key
and reinstall again good luck
Keep on rocking

Easier, quicker and less risky than hacking the registry on your own (at least for us that are less ‘registery literate’.)

I am going though this same problem with 4.33 still cant get pass this step

24 hrs later I got it thanks a million I can get back to flying

Is there an easy way to fix the registry without reinstalling?

Are you familiar with messing with the registry?
What OS you on, and is it 32 or 64 bit?

I still had falcon BMS 4.33 U1 installed on my laptop and just looked at the registry entry and duplicated it to my desktop manually, all working fine now:)

I did use that but nothing happened in the registry, it does something but not that i needed. I still had Falcon BMS 4.33 U2 installed but after a windows 10 error i had to reinstall. Windows 10 has a new option to keep all you data while getting a fresh OS so i did that but of course all registry entries are gone.
Is there a way to get my old profile running again? I tried copying a backup into the user folder but wont show the profile with the correct stats.

The “wow” did the trick! Thanks. I thought I looked everywhere for benchmark.
"In the registry, are you looking in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node folder for a BMS entry?? Not sure the registry in W10 is similar to W7, which I’m on.
Just a shot in the dark.

Two things are clear:
1. Not everyone spend huge amounts of time on here, and therefore does not read all the posts, indeed it’s a waste of time. My registry was messed up because I didn’t read the necessary part of the necessary manual. And that’s because I didn’t know I needed to read it. Just like you’ve never read any instruction books for anything else… None of us know all the things we don’t know we don’t know. None of us have read the instruction we don’t know exists.
AND BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH TO READ ON BMS…
2. So therefore, the correct cleaner link that is in the middle of the thread, should be sticky at the top where Dunc has a link for 4.32 right at the top. Is it not reasonable to ignore all the chatter when a moderator if not one of the top moderators has posted something at the top?

Hi,
I had the same problem on a Win7 64 bit.
Using the search function of REGEDIT with “falcon bms 4.33”, I found and delete a “benchmark sims” folder in “HKey_local_machine\software\wow6432node”
After that, i was able to reinstall 4.33 without error message.
Hope it can help.Thank you. This was helpful as I, like bipcopter above, could not find the specified path in the registry. Learned how to do a search in registry (never done that before) and voila! Found it. Deleted it. Installed clean copy of U1. Don’t really spend time in registry files as I simply don’t like mucking about there…not a computer guru but know enough to understand you could screw things up deleting the wrong thing. Thanks again.

I had this issue also. The registry path that is specified is wrong. I had to do a search for “falcon” to find it. Everything is good to go for me and is working fantastic.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted here. I had my install get corrupted when trying to get Israel in there, and this thread saved my butt!!! Thank you all!
