F-15 A2G & A2A on at the same time question
-
Hello,
Apologies if this has been covered. I have searched the forum using the forum tools and Google searched as well.
I can’t seem to get the F-15 in A2G mode. A2A and A2G seem to light up together and I can only seem to get A2A in the SMS page. I looked around the operations manual and didn’t find anything specific to the F-15 for this issue.
If some kind soul can point me in the right direction I would be grateful!
PS: Great job on the update…it’s all I’ve been flying since it came out!

Am I the only one having this issue? I really want to fly a campaign with the F-15 but I can’t get the air to ground working.
Anyone at all?

Does the F-15C have an AG mode?
What happens if you select AG MM through the DED or use a key shortcut for ICP AG?
-
Do you even have AG stores onboard ?

The F-15C is A-A only.

Ok…I got it sorted.
First off…it was an F-15E I was flying and I did have ground weapons loaded. It was a DEAD mission from the campaign and I went with the default load out.
The problem was I was using “Shift M” (master arm toggle) and cycled through Inst, Nav, but it would light up AA and AG together. See the pic:
Since I could not get “just” the AA or AG to light up by themselves using Master Arm cycle…I thought it was an issue. When using ICP A2G it does allow ground weapons access…even though both lights go on.
Anyway…all is good. Can anyone confirm that both lights lighting up is a bug or is that how it is IRL?

This is the danger with the non-F-16 cockpits. Every planes is really an F-16 wearing a disguise. When you press “Shift-M” you are calling callback SimStepMasterArm which is to cycle through master arm: SIM/SAFE/ARM. This has no relation to being in master mode AA/NAV/AG which would be accomplished by pressing SimICPAA (F5) SimICPAG (F6) as appropriate.
When the custom cockpit lights up various signals like your picture it can be an inexact decoration compared to the real F-15E avionics function. To fly non-F-16 cockpits you must know the F-16 blindfolded because this is ultimately what is happening behind the scenes.
Where did you find the ICP AA AG clickable zones in the cockpit or did you use a key/button instead? It’s not named in the PDF document for that cockpit.

Thank you Fred and n8, I’ve been looking for the keyboard shortcut to select AA Missiles for 3 days. I know, RTFM.
Now I just need to remember to “Long” Shift-/ to cycle missiles by type, I previously in 4.32 just mapped the “Enter” key to my T.FlightHotasX which made selecting and cycling a one button solution. -
