Date link, and Block 52's in Korea
-
Good evening, All
- Is the IDM different in 4.33? Yes, I have RTFM, and what I’ve seen sounds like 4.32. My specific question is do I have to do something different on the ramp/in the air? I’ve not seen anything obvious in the checklists.
- Is it true there are no USAF Block 50/52’s in our new Korea campaign? I prefer the DEAD mission, and the KF-16-52’s do not have the Sniper Pod,HTS, or JSOW. I’m flying with the 35th ( Wolfpack, go figure
) and have had occasion to miss HTS! Ouch.
For those of the Group who go for SEAD/DEAD, what can we do? The KF squadron gets DEAD, and we get Barcaps. I’ve tried maxing air defense as a priority, but it hasn’t seemed to change much.
I’m curious what your views are on this.

Disregard the IDM question, sorted it out

I’m curious what your views are on this.I’ve started Rolling Fire flying the ROKAF Block 52 from Haemi. So far, after 10 hours into the war, the automatic ATO generated 90% DEAD missions. The lack of a HTS was a bit of a concern at the beginning, but I’m not really missing it. It adds a bit to the thrill. The war on SAMs is by the way so intense that by my second sortie around noon, the radar at my target site was already destroyed by a previous flight and I subsequently got a “poor” mission rating because there was no more damage to inflict.
I also forgot to switch on my chaff and flare programs in both missions. SAMs were shot at me. Quite a lot of them. That there were no actual visible chaff or flares despite Betty’s “chaff flare” calls was’t much of a concern. I’ve only raised an eyebrow when I got home from sortie #2 and noticed that my CM inventory was still 60-60. Maybe my wingie’s CMs saved my ass. Lesson learned.
